parent illnesses/health problems

Featured Replies

umm i was wondering if someone has a parent or parents that have health problems of some sort. just wondering...

my dad had a surgery today :( nothing really life threatening but he has a tear in his retna in his eye and he has to be off work for a little bit to recover. i asked him if he'd be able to see again properly and he says he's not sure.

then my mom is a whole nother issue. for the past few months she's been having chest pains, the doctors don't really know know what it is....but i think i overheard that she has holes in her intestines :stunned: :( well that's one of the problems among others. plus she's overweight with diabetes and can't stay on her feet for long amounts of time. she's also off work at the moment because of the chest pains. she just works part time though.

does anyone know how serious any of these things are by the way? no one will tell me really...

sorry for bugging you all with my probelsms though..well some of them. :embarrased:

This topic has the potential of being very depressing :(

Twin, good luck with your parents. Whether or not those are serious, I am not sure, maybe you should research it around a bit on the internet.

My dad is an alcoholic and my mother is depressed because of it, she is soo skinny and has high blood pressure (which I inherited from her).

I'm really sorry to hear that your parents are ill :/

I don't really know what could be wrong with your Mum :(

Perhaps you should ask them, as you have a right to know as it concerns you totally and maybe they think they should sheild you from their problems... Just a suggestion!

Hope you're alright <hug>

my dad has horrible allergies and asthma, he only sleeps like 3-4 hours a night because of it. But i hope your dads eye heals up and that your moms chest pains stop.

Mum has a heart murmur which can be fatal without treatment but shes got drugs for it

and my dad has had problems with stomach ulcers

Well I don't know if it's considered an illness but my mom has severe motion sickness. She can't tilt her head certain ways, can't watch people in rocking chairs, and some movies even bother her motion sickness. Not to mention car rides, boats, etc...It's weird. :P

I am sorry to hear that.

My rents are getting old so yeah i have nights where i stress about their health etc

I mean they take care of themselves but they push a bit too hard.

My dad had tripple bypass surgery and has high blood pressure and my mum has depression but thats it.

My dads getting surgery on his back in a couple of weeks, Other than that my parents seem fine, But my grandparents are a difrfrent story :(

Mom had high blood pressure, smoked a lot so she changed her life style, now she's vegetarian, goes to the gym, and doesn't smoke. My dad? maybe he has problems with sugar but not a big stuff.
