See that's actually one of my pet peeves. When shows get canceled and someone rushes in and says they have lost all respect for someone. Oh and I like how you point out Damon, like he must be the real douche bag behind it all. You know it probably had something to do with the new American dates that conflicted. They've done a lot of shows already in the UK, and there was probably a big conflicting schedule. I don't think you know enough about the situation to be saying you've lost respect just for that. I've met Damon twice throughout his career and he is one of the most lovely individuals I've had the pleasure of meeting. He has done the most brilliant things for British music and music in general. Losing respect over that is just ridiculous. Things like this happen in lots of big name bands and I'm not saying its OK, but sometimes there are not many options to work with.

im sorry that show got canceled though. they might add it back later in the year or beginning of next year though? :\ i dont think they just wanted to fuck Newcastle. maybe the venue wasn't available at any other time if they were trying to re-schedule it? but i doubt they were trying to make more money just by going on with the world tour, because let's be honest they are all loaded anyway, and i dont think they are really in it for the money.

anyway lets hope for the best. and i hope your friend can see them another time

The newcastle venue probably wasn't available for the dates they wanted so instead of messing up the logistics of the rest of the tour they cancelled the show, hopefully the ticket agency will refund booking fees if they refuse to refund booking fees complain as they are not allowed to keep fees, a full refund is meant to be a full refund

I would understand if there was a completely legitimate reason for why they canceled ONE of the English shows and kept the others, it's just like "oh yeah the fans there don't matter cos we're doing a WORLD tour". Normally bands apologise for this kind of thing, or at least even EXPLAIN it, it was just like a side comment that it was canceled, fuck that, it's an absolutely terrible way to deal with it and I am fully allowed to lose respect if I want to. They've canceled a gig just so they can make more money by touring the world, it's disgusting.

 

My friend who was meant to be going to the gig had this to say:

 

"He canceled the Gorillaz gig in Newcastle for no good reason. They are going on a "World Tour" so moved all the dates back to November, but canceled Newcastle, it's the only English gig they canceled, so now I can't see them at all. It's even more annoying as I could have easily gone to one of the others and there wasn't even an apology or anything, it was just like "oh yeah we're not playing there anymore, fuck Newcastle""

 

So don't have a go at me for daring to think that's a rubbish thing to do, you act like you know the band or something or that I'm attacking them for having a genuine reason for dropping out of the show. You've met Damon, so what? That means he can't have done this thing, because he's was so lovely to you? Oh that's ok then, as long as he was nice to you, he can just screw over the fans in England, no problem.

Thank you both! Actually what I was meaning to say. They probably couldn't reschedule the Newcastle date because of the logistics of the rest of the tour.

They on sale in August. Well the presale isn't announced yet. But I dont think im going to do the presale anyway, it didn't help me with CP tix I know. So the regular dates for buying tix is August 6th for Detroit and Chicago is August 27th.
