I find the songs of Plastic Beach to more subtle, outside the hip hop tracks which are refreshing throughout.

 

I've decided to listen to their debut album first and work my way through chronologically.

Listened to Plastic Beach in full for the first time the other day. I've heard bits of it and found it decent, but not pursued it up until now. I have to say I'm a fan.

 

Going to listen to some of the earlier albums now, though I only remember liking the singles to Demon Days on first encounter. Time for another listen methinks.

YES! Work your way through those, so many good songs on all the albums. Also if you become a big enough fan I can give you the G sides and D sides. I think there is gonna be P sides too from Plastic Beach because Damon said they had about 80 left over songs :stunned:

Yup. Jeff was adorable during the entire show and haz some skillzzz. Also he has to be the most sought after man in music. Damon got him in Gorillaz and Liam has him in Oasis now :lol: So funny and ironic I can't get over it.

I still need to get their b-sides efforts :lol:

 

Also, my tickets came in the post today :wacko:

Yaaay! The first album I listened to was Demon Days. I'd really liked the singles, but I really wasn't expecting to like it tbh. It completely blew me away. Very few albums have done that. I was smitten right away!

What is your view on Melancholy Hill live? Somebody showed me the Jool's Holland version and I found it weary, but after hearing it a few times on the album I quite like it, for what it is.

MH was amazing at my show, the Jool's Holland one was just ok I noticed.

 

btw Greg, since your on a Gorillaz kick right now, you should totally watch the David Letterman show they did. It's like a mini concert and it's ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!
