Brilliant opening song! (I cant find another topic about it)

 

The first notes keep reminding me of Strauss's 'Also Sprach Zarathoustra', you know, the song used in 2001: A Space Odyssey! Does anyone else have that? :P

Its supposed to remind us of 2001, they've talked about how they "sampled it".

Its fuckin amazing though, I saw it last night at Kool Haus, and I couldn't believe how good their opening with Square One and closing with Fix You was. Fix You is also out of this world.

Square One is awesome... Could someone who has heard Fix You briefly describe it... like is it most piano-driven, or acoustic guitars? Does it build up... is it sad? I've heard so much about this track and want to know what to expect

theres a seperate link for fix you, but its mostly piano driven and chris sings really high on it....

I cant wait till the new album comes out .. I have only heard the one song of it...

I hate comparing songs but I would have to parallel it to Amsterdam. Piano driven song that starts off a ballad but with some quiet gutiars, and then builds up to a huge amazing loud finish. Just wait for the album version trust me isaw it live on the 11th its amazing. Probable single. This albums "The Scientist"

Fix You has been all but confirmed by the band as a single. Besides, forget Amsterdam, the lyrical content reminds me of Everything's Not Lost! :D

Ah good. Fix You is one of those songs that grows on you, i think, unlike White Shadows and Square One. These hit you instantly ;) There, brought myself back on topic :P

Politik souded more forceful than square one at coachella, i have to say :( sorry - i do like the song alot, coldplay just partied at politik and thats great listening :P

Square One, Fix You and A Message are the three songs that I already know will constantly be played on my CD.

 

Oh, and I commend Coldplay for being able to fuse the styles from Parachutes and AROBTTH so well on the new album. I don't think anybody is gonna be dissatisfied this time.

I've only heard about 50 seconds of Square One...and I'm IN LOVE. I can't wait to hear the whole studio version of it!!
