War of the Worlds

^Agrees.

Yeah, the most stupid part was the final. How they explained the end of the machines just because they weren't destined to live in this world. I was like uhh, ok.

laugh' date=' why?[/quote']

Because in places, it was just too darned ridiculous. You HAD to laugh!! :D

I laughed for the pathetic parts. Mostly the one when Cruise was lettin his son go away for some unkown reason, Cruise looked very affected. :dozey:

Of course he did - it was a result of his brainwashing by the Scientologists!

Katie's meant to be studying 12 hours a day, by the way!! :o

The most stupid part for me was definitely where the plane crashed and destroyed everything around except for Cruise's vehicle. That was unbelievably stoopid!!

Haha, yeah he was driving while everything was exploding around, too fict. :dozey:

It was just too far-fetched to be believable........................................

I didn't read all of the posts (too many pages, not enough time  ), but I simply have to say that "War of the Worlds" is a HORRIBLE movie, I absolutely HATED it, it's stupid and has no sense and Tom Cruise says about 2 intelligent sentences in it.. Everything else is just screaming and crying - "Roobbiiieee" - and it's a shame that Steven Spielberg was the director! Making such a crap movie isn't typical for Spielberg.

And I have to agree to *andrea* - I laughed a lot, too! Each time Tom Cruise tries to look sad and desperate, it simply looks funny

we laugh a lot when tom made this funny faces trying to look desperte! it was quite funny really... but the end was sooooo awful!!!! when tom founds out that robbie was alive!! come on!!!!!!! that was so unreal!!!!! the worst part was when some people claped.... what the fu!@k??? hahaha...that when be just couldn´t stop laughing...

I don't care about what other people say, I loved it!

WATCH OUT FOR SPOILERS

I'm real slow, I had to go see it again to get the whole "bacteria kill the aliens" thing. but I really loved it! Yeah it's cheesy, Tom Cruise gets home with his little kid to meet her mom, her brother and her grandparents all alive and safe.

I love how it portraid two of the most humam characteristics, which is to help one another(like robbie helped those people on the boat, and left for the army to help people) and to fight for your life, live until you're dead.

plus, I thought they explained the end of it in a very subtle(well, then I'm just dumb to have to see it twice for that. hahah, but on the first time I saw it, when I realised it was ending the same way it began, I just got pissed off and didnt care for what he said)

Yes, I would have had far more respect for the film had "Robbie" been left dead.

Bringing him back at the end was unnecessary, "pure Hollywood" and made a mockery of the film.

With all the millions who died, how on earth could it be expected that Tom's character would somehow manage not to lose ANY of his family?

It was a joke!!

If some people clapped at the end, I have a strong feeling they must have been chavs - that's the only explanation!!

Very good and kinda scary for a 12A :stunned:

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I was thinking my wuss ratings had risen!! Or maybe its just my age, I remember the Tripods on BBC when I was 6 and had to hide behind the sofa from them!!

Considering seeing it. Haven't ever read the book. Not sure if I want death/destruction-type sh*t floating around in my unconciousness . . . might mess me up later on, you know?

I really liked the movie.

But it's a Spielberg film, you guys!

Spielberg films always have happy endings, and it always seem to feature children (who never seem to die)...

Watching Big Brother's far more likely to do that!! :P

Really? Hmm . . . well, my original opinion still stands.

well it was never going to be a movie to challenge the brain cells was it?

it did what it said on the tin really, it was a good movie to just enjoy for a couple of hours. nothing more!

Well since I spended some food and two cinema tickets on it I consider it a waste.

However from what I know movies were supposed to bring joy with a good story, anyway the war of the worlds didn't.

fair enough :)

but i liked it!

I love Batman, oooo, Christian Bale :D

I really didn't like this movie; Rip-off. Too high expectations I guess... :snore:

haha i loved war of the worlds because i love world destruction movies (the day after tomorrow anyone?) but I had to hide behind my mother because aliens scare the crap outta me.

I haven't seen the film, I've got the CD music version thing though lol.

I listen to it when I'm travelling. :P Very dramatic.

Alien - it was on telly last weekend!

great movie but i meant a film that was released this year :P

I thought is was pretty good myself. I'm yet to understand how people are moaning about the ending when it hasn't exactly changed over the hundred odd years the story has been around.
