I wanna see this, but in the foyer in work we show teaser trailers on a loop allllll day so I hear that damn Willy Wonka song about 50 times a shift :evil:

I really hope it's not going to have too many songs in it. Though, that wouldnt surprise me. I havent seen the original but this version already seems very different. I think Burton and the producers insist that it's not a remake of the 70s movie and that it sticks to the book more closely. Also from what I have seen from the first one and the new one, Wonka seems to have a completely different character. Wilder was really sweet...Depp is...not. Which I love. I cannot wait to see this movie...which won't happen anytime soon. I don't know when it's coming out in Germany and I will refuse to see it in the dubbed German version. They will kill all the atmosphere and ruin the jokes. As matter of fact i recorded the trailer and made soundclips hahahahahaha

because the original was willy wonka and the chocolate factory, and this new one is charlie and the choloate factory, which means its charlie who is in charge now. in the trailer for the new one, it said "and now charlie's all grown up now" so doesn't that mean that it's not a remake, but the sequel :huh:

Anyway, I heard they had to rename the movie because the "God squad" objected to the word "willy" being in the title!! :P

they had to rename a movie cuz it was called "Willy"? Then why didn't they rename that horrible movie "Dick"...wait...why didn't they just stop the director from making it ?!

 

Anyway...I definitely wanna see the damn movie. I am a huge Burton fan. Only left out Planet Of The Apes...for my own good sake.

I hope it will have a lot of those gothic elements in it but it already does look very burton-ish from the trailer. So excited it is comin out. Maybe I will get to see it once it comes out to DVD, haha.

The book is entitled the same.. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. You'll see in the end. I also welcome the idea of seeing Wonka as he is protrayed in the book.. he was rude at times.. and eerie!! Wilder's version was bit more laid back. Still one of my favorite movies..

This movie has so much potential. Burton, Depp, Dahl. It has all the makings of a classic. THose that aren't happy about a remake should at least be open to the possibility that this could be a great, great film.

But its not a remake :idea2:
