this is a dumb question but when you talk to a someone are you sapposed to look them in the eyes? because ive been thinking about this for a while and alot of people i talk to dont' date=' and i usualy dont when we talk. but today i was talking to this girl i know and she was looking right at me the whole time and making eye contact or so it seemed. so im curious. i feel stupid asking this though.[/quote']

Is this a flirting thing?

I think looking a person in the eye shows confidence and genuine thinking.

When you are talking to them do you want them looking at you?

whenever my dad screams at me for like burning a candle in my room ...some dumb crap hes like LOOK AT ME IN THE EYES! and than when i do he walks around in a circle infuriated and im like WHAT? you just told me to look you in the eyes ,,and than when hes done walking around in a circle mumbling ill be looking around trying not to laugh and hell say it again. it goes on for hours. but than when i fail a drug screen or something like that...he doesnt say it......weird. this doesnt help you much or answer the question but its just a lil story of my experiences with looking people in the eyes.

i usually look the pesong i'm talking to in the eyes. I've realised that because whenever people wear sunglasses and you see your reflection and not their eyes then it really really bothers me because I don't know where to look- it's a habit i guess.

Although with new people i stare less because sometimes it freaks me out if they stare back. But most of the time there is eye contact........

i used to not look people n the eyes when talking to them, but since i spent 10 days at my friends few years ago, her mum made me to look people in the eyes when talking to them. i found it really scary in the beginning, because i was really shy, but now i can't imagine a face-to-face conversation with someone without looking them in the eyes.
