eh no offence but if is going to be coldplay themed 'poems' wouldn't it fit better in coldplay section than the lounge?

coldplaying poets, my faves were byron and mike, i really miss them :(

Can I have my brain cells back please?

+1

thread

again

allowed

don't rhyme:(

THIS IS NO POETRY. I want my money back

:laugh2:

I still don't get it

why people laugh at and scorn

a thread that was made

for poetry and fun.

What did I ever do or say

to get such insults thrown

in my direction?

I'm just a newcomer

looking for some recognition

looking to impress

yet every little thing I do

or say

or comment on

is met with frowns and sarcasm.

My thread's alive because of this

these nasty posts and replies

so if you wonder why it's alive

It's all due to you.

Poetry doesn't have to rhyme

(Ever heard of freestyle?)

Poetry doesn't cost squat

(Unless it's bought in a book)

Poetry can be anything

(The wind, the birds, these posts)

Poetry should bring happiness

(Not sarcasm and jokes)

i r poet

u r famuzz writrr

Is there actually any Poetry in this thread?

I like the works of Patrick Kavanagh, WB Yeats and Emily Dickinson.

I love kavanagh's use of mixing the imaginary with real life, his hyperboles and this almost magical imagery are awesome.

I love Yeats for his great flow of beautiful language. Some of his imagery as well is gorgeous.

And Emily Dickinson, who was mad and eccentric. But her extended metaphors are brilliant.

Anyone? no? :uhoh:

Winter falls upon my gaze

and traps me in it's deathly maze.

Cold and sharp, it twists my body

It stares at me,

hellishly gaudy.

In order to encourage L.

I know it's hard for you, my friend,

To choose.

You think in world is so unkind,

To be.

And there's no way for truth,

To win.

You know-there is no point to cheat

'Cous you're just a pawn in God's game.

But you must believe-you can be a knight!

Just grab your sword and join the fight.

I'm just trying to encourage you

To make you believe

To listen to your heart

Or even to feel.

The sun is shinning, don't you see

The clouds are gone

The day has come...

(Nothing really special, but still )
