The Toon pulled off a real coup to get Owen - it might well have saved their season.

However, most Liverpool fans feel that their club should have pulled out all the stops to get him - whatever the cost.

It will be interesting to see what happens - and everyone's forgetting that Newcastle also signed Scotty Parker, who should be in the England squad himself.
