Seen this before? (Coldplay bashing)

this doctor seems to be jealous or just doesn't like the British.

That pissed me off alot.

He obviously secret loves Coldplay to take that much time to write that "piece" on them :D

I bet he has no life, no friends, a small... uhm, you know ;), and hours of time to waste.

I remember reading that back when it came out, seriously. Major flashback... Ergh.

I used to get really upset and angry about that kind of stuff, but now it's just water off my back. Funny how unbelievably uncool it used to be to like Coldplay. I remember going on a band trip 2 years ago to Washington DC and someone saw me listening to ROBTTH and called it "boring" and "lame"

Assholes. Yeah, who's eating those words now??? :smug:

i have followed the careers of a lot of bands, and i must say i don't think i have ever seen a band have quite as many haters as coldplay. i wonder why?

^I noticed that too. Well, except U2.

It's ironic how the better the band, the more the people who hate it. It really makes no sense, cuz usually there's absolutely no justification. It's just "Oh, that yellow song's stupid. Who the fuck names a song after a color? Psh!" Instead of "You know, I really don't like the chord progression, it just clashes with what I consider musical." or something.

It's just dumb. I never say I hate any form of music without properly listening to it. That's the problem with people, they shoot their fuckin' mouths off about things they know nothing about. You can't hate something until you've really given it a shot. And you can't really love something unless you've hated it at some point. I've learned this from experience...

Aaaaand. I type too much!

people usually hate what's good. throughout history, big and powrful civilazations were and still are criticized. i think that coldplay has many haters mainly because it is a band that is it versatile. unlike other bands, coldplay has the ability to evolve but somehow still maintain their identity. :D some say that good music isnt supposed to be popular, while others say that something isnt good unless its popular... since coldplay is the possesor of both, people always criticize them...

Say no to coldplay haters!

^Amen, sistah! Amen!

power to the people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :furious2: these haters should :lipsrsealed2: quickly!!!!!!!!!

**getting a little overdramatic*

i also think that the clean image and charitable awareness causes somewhat of a backlash from those who have the "sex, drugs, rock and roll" mentality

Funny, isn't it? Chris said it in a quote I used to have in my sig, but I don't feel like looking up right now. How to care about the world and be an activist for a good cause (such as, for example, AIDS) makes you arrogant, self righteous and uncool. Yet putting up an image of drugs, sex and sponsering lip gloss makes you a justifiably cool "rock" "star".

It's unbelievable, this world we live in. But I honestly think that the majority of people out there don't care about that stupid stuff and DO like Coldplay, everyone on this forum just proves that. It's just the media that likes to rile things up with all their false images about the "way things are". When really, they're not.

*breathes* Aaaaaaaand I'm done with my rant. :dozey:

yes, i have noticed it too. they are usually being bashed for being "the extremely g-rated" band. it annoys me because bands nowadays, arent abou the music anymore. if they have a good, and common "rock star" image, they sell loads of albums. and that is something coldplay doesnt need to to do. the music is enough.

the band makes this point across, clearly by the way they dress. they wear plain black, and sometimes, chris even wears ripped jackets. the black is a color that even though it can represent darkness, it is also elegance. the fact that they all wear it creates an illusion of a shadow, meaning that none of them is higher or lower. they are all a band, they work together, for the music and not an image.

you are right danielle, i don't go running to the newspaper to see what a critic said before i buy a cd or go to the movies. i have read rave reviews on films that i personally thought were terrible... it is so subective. the books, music, and movies we love are such a personal thing. which makes me wonder what useful purpose these so called critics serve anyway? :P

They are secretly brain washing you and are planning to take over the world...

Christiana, as glarbinator said, they are an evil cult compossed of a bunch of plutonians....and yes the plan to take over the world :dozey:

BEWARE!!!!!! :stunned: :stunned:

what an awesome job that would be though, just think about it... sit around, listen to cd's all day, say whatever the hell you want without much thought, and get paid a bundle for it. hell, i could do that!! :wink3:

i guess you have to be some type of jounalist, right? but that would be awsome...good jobs for lazy people.... :wink3:

yeah i think you need to have a degree in communications or have some specialty in the genre you are critiquing. damn it, i wish i would have figured this out before i finished college!!

...

...Do not let Chris see this.

i also think that the clean image and charitable awareness causes somewhat of a backlash from those who have the "sex' date=' drugs, rock and roll" mentality[/quote']

That should never matter. People who think like that are obviously far more interested in image than in the music itself!! :smug:

The guy just wrote it because he likes getting rises out of people so he can argue with them. He wants letters countering his opinions so he can tell them how stupid they are. When you meet someone like that, you just say, "Yeah, okay."

Then you blast Coldplay really loud for the rest of the day.

That guy is a total waster

He obviously needs to get out a bit more, I started reading what he had wrote and got that bored of the total shite that he put, I just didn't manage to read it all.

Now that's how interesting he is ..... :smug:

I bet he probably likes listening to the pussycat dolls or some other crap like that.
