College isn't for everyone. Some people go because they have no other option. People who have the choice to dropout and pursue their own interests are lucky. I would give my left leg to be able to do something different without going to college.

And, putainfromage, I completely agree with you about pretty much everything you said. People who think EVERYONE needs to go to college to become something are pretentious fools. I would rather be a postal worker than a pretentious snob of a professor anyday.

Hell yeah Kelli. Hell yeah.

Alright. Here's the scenario. You're a great musician. You play the bass extremely well. You join a band. You get a record contract. There's a good chance that you could REALLY go somewhere with this, and maybe even break out of the tight indie circuit and get into the mainstream. You're enrolled in a college as an engineering major (and getting accepted with that kind of major can't be easy). What do you do?

I'd kick college in the balls and do what I love, do what I think I might have a future in. Who the hell cares what Guy did in his past, or what he's doing now? I surely don't. Frankly, if we ever recieved the knowledge through some sort of reliable leak that the guys, or one of the guys, does anything hard like coke or heroine, I'd send an email to Debs immediately and just try to tell her to pass the information on that the fans aren't "disapointed" and " " about it, but we just want to help and see them not hurt themselves.

But they DON'T do that shit. They're not Led Zeppelin, for christ's sake. Chris is married and has a daughter, and another on the way. With Gwyn around, I really don't think he could ever have the opportunity to get hardcore into drugs. Guy's married as well and could be thinking of starting a family. Same with Will. And PERHAPS the same with Jonny. If they did it in the past, well, ok? Whoop de doo. If doing that made them write Yellow, then I've got no issues. But they're all growed up now! And I'm sure it's not an addiction sort of thing.

I don't know. This just really bothers me, this obsessive need to collect all information on the guys. I don't look at them through rose colored glasses, but I'm also not looking at them under a microscope.

i've been seriously thinking about being a postal worker lately, get out of my head! :stunned:

I supposed you are right, but it's only the lucky ones that get into the music business and sell multiplatinum records.

yeah, and i really don't give a damn to that extend why guy dropped out, that's his own thing.

and as for drugs i agree with you AN_CAT, but that thing interests me cus i don't like fake things and the way they're presented to us, really.and another thing why i would like to know these things is purely for my private issues and some prioritees i have in my life that i can't explain. ;)

i agree...the only reason i care is because they are marketed as this clean cut soft rock band...which is the image that they capitalize off of and Debs endorces...but in actuality alot of the band members have less than respectable drinking and smoking habits that no one knows about.

i remember chris saying once that the band agreed never to drink or do drugs before or during a show because it would affect their performance, but how can he say that when Guy is drinking and smoking cigs on stage in betweeen songs? they have to stop pretending to be something their not, otherwise people will wonder if all of the critics comments saying that they are fake are true...

Yes,it's true. but I don't think they are pretending to be good boys or things like that. It's only the media trying to put them in a box, I think.

That reminds me one of the quotes i have recently found.

I: You guys are the subject of the gossip pages now. What’s the best untrue stuff you’ve read about the band?

Will: Well, all of the stuff at the beginning was like, none of us drink and none of us smoke. For three years, we were Oxford graduates who played Scrabble and never drank and never went out. You know, whatever sells.

Hey, dajrekshn. Use "extent" instead of "extend." :)

I loved that chocolate part!! :D

Sorry, I didnät read the whole topic, I just needed to say that! Chocolate is Chris's drug...

yeah' date=' it's media but some ppl around them too, close to them... ;)[/quote']

totally agree...and i think we all know who that certain person is ;)

dont worry....we still love ya Debs!

What's Debs do to sponser a 'good boy' image?

I haven't seen anything on the websites, nor do I ever go on the official forums. So can someone clear this up for me, please?

don't you guys know that you're not supposed to know the bad stuff about a band until they write books about it when they're 60? gosh.

I can't wait for a shocking Behind the Music episode on Coldplay. I bet you Chris liked white chocolate this whole time.

I know... I feel betrayed, too.

I just lost my innocence. Thanks a lot!

lmfao white chocolate, oh the sin!

It is one in my house.

Waitaminnit, does Behind the Music even exist anymore?

I don't know, I haven't seen it in a loooooong time!

Yes, I would hope so! :D

when debs was asked for how long has chris been clean, she said it was a rude question (which really was, the whole way of asking..)

and that chris has been clean for his whole life which is a lie cus eve chris admitted he smoked weed.

yea i have an interview in a paper with chris and he said it done nothing for him so he obviosuly experimented when he was younger, like most people do and it didnt do anything!
