Hey, are they any Porcupine Tree fans here? I believe that they are one of or if not the greatest band out there today. Their new album "Deadwing" is simply mind-blowing and deserves a look (as do their past albums including "In Absentia"). It's so underrated. Porcupine Tree themselves are underrated. So why not give them a shot? Check them out. Any fans share my opinion?

I love strip the soul, it's such a good song. That whole album is great.

khm..i don't know if you've already heard for this band..but all i can say is that they're brilliant.. :) they're kinda mixing all kinds of music starting from the rock and alternative.. but at the some strange way..so i can't say in which kind of music they belong..

I love porcupine tree! They have many many great and beautiful songs. It's too bad their not too popular in the U.S. but that's alright... they don't need to be. I like Deadwing, but I think In Absentia and Lightbulb Sun are much better. Signify is pretty good too.

I love this band. I cant believe i only discovered them 2 weeks ago (purely by accident) why they are so unkown is beyond me... but i'm so glad i've found them. My favourite album of theirs is probably Deadwing, but their new album Fear of a Blank Planet is very impressive aswell. Those who don't know Porcupine tree yet who are reading this, you should really check them out. You won't regret it.

 

Well I've only got their three latest albums. Can anyone here tell me if its worth getting the earlier albums (ie: Lightbulb Sun) when I'm a fan of their later stuff?

I only have "Stranger By The Minute" and it's okay. Nothing outstanding though

I've been listening to them for a few years now, and it never occured to me that I could start a thread about them...

 

They're great. My favourite disc by them is Recordings, too bad it's very rare. Anyway, the last three are really great.

 

Fave songs : Buying New Soul, Heartattack In A Layby, The Start Of Something Beautiful, Even Less and The Sky Moves Sideways.

Yes. I think Steven Wilson actually remixed all his albums in 5.1.

I'll have to look for it on Amazon, I can't imagine how awesome surround sound would sound on that album
