January 6, 200620 yr ^thanks Nettie, that makes me feel so much better  It isnt easy to be the minority. the worst part, is that many people love to be stereotyped, and never dare to fall out of them :/ but we coldplay fans...we brake barriers!!! :D
January 6, 200620 yr ^thanks Nettie, that makes me feel so much better  It isnt easy to be the minority. the worst part, is that many people love to be stereotyped, and never dare to fall out of them :/ but we coldplay fans...we brake barriers!!! :D about your nieces!  thats so clever! maybe that'll teach them to learn to love coldplay!! :D
January 7, 200620 yr Omg. You guys were in NME... that is so cool. :o I just remember on the MTV VMAs when they performed Speed of Sound, Chris went up into the audience. I stood and danced there for a few seconds, and in the back of him there was this black guy having the time of his life. Someone on here has an avi about it... "Bush doesn't care about black people, but black people care about Coldplay."
January 7, 200620 yr  Yeah, he does looks a bit spazzy... Another black coldplay fan..... that dude is a legend  Nah - he's a hired help. How do I know? He was there at the rehersal.... They had a handful of 'extras' pretending to rock out up there where he went. Totally staged...
January 7, 200620 yr There are over 18,000 registered users on this forum. I was wondering if I'm the only black Coldplay fan here. It wouldn't bother me if I am, but if not, I'm curious to know what peoples reactions are when they find out you're into Coldplay. Personally, I get alot of raised eyebrows when people discover the kind of music I listen to, and not just Coldplay. I know where you're coming from. I'm not black, but Asian, and I get a lot of dodgy reactions when I talk about the sort of music I listen to. I'm not really bothered by the crap I get sometimes (used to it mainly), everyone is different and is entitled to their own opinions in my book.
January 7, 200620 yr Holy crap, another Asian Coldplay fan!!!! I'm Asian too! Woot woot...Thai and Lao with a sliver of Chinese thrown in... My family are all into rap...and I swear if I hear another "Fiddy" Cent song, I'm going to rip my eardrums out. Long live Coldplay and their diverse fans!!! To you all!!!
January 7, 200620 yr i never realized how diverse all coldplay fans were!! :D ^i had no idea you were asian! i used to know this girl, she was Thai and she loved coldplay as well! :D :D
January 7, 200620 yr ^^To be honest, I didn't know we were so diverse either! I thought I was the lone minority floating on a sea of...white faces... I am indeed as Asian as they come and you wouldn't believe the looks I get when people find out who my favorite band is. I've even been asked: "Er...what is Coldplay exactly?" :stunned: You've got to be fucking kidding me...
January 7, 200620 yr This is a pretty cool thread. I am a Native American from the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. :indianchief: I haven't come across any other Native Americans on coldplaying yet. If there are any out there please say "Hello". I always have some sort of Coldplay rocking in my car as well. I think it eventually got my brother to like "The Scientist". I guess that I always assumed everyone else on this site was white. :P I think being a Coldplay fan has less to do with skin color and depends more on your personality type. My favorite thing to do at work is to take my earphones out and ask my co-workers, "how is Coldplay so f*cking good?" All of them just laugh and shake their head. Anyways, the diversity here at coldplaying is outstanding. I send love to all of my coldplaying brothers and sisters. Lance
January 7, 200620 yr  im still laughing about 'spot the black' comment   I never even thought about it at the time! Strange! Isn't that a snooker term?? :P
January 7, 200620 yr I was wondering whether Penny deliberately chose us because of the ethnic diversity of our 'fandom'.... Who's Penny??
January 7, 200620 yr Penny Howle, the band's tour photographer. She interviewed Nettie & Me after 15/12 concert. Really nice lady. :)
January 7, 200620 yr Oh that pic is hilarious Nettie..  I'm Latina so my fam is always going on about how I listen to Coldplay way too much and it should be meregue or salsa and Hispanic music instead. But I like to think that Coldplay's music goes beyond race and grabs the hearts of anyone who's willing to let them in. Black, White or yellow, in my case! you sound just like me!!! :D i had no idea you were hispanic!! im hispanic as well and i have the same problem, most of my family gets on my nerves(or other people from my race) on how strange it is for me to like Coldplay and other rock bands...according to them i should listen to the music that is typical for hispanics to like...its so annoying!!! Yes - I bet it is!! Just stick to your guns!! :D

January 7, 200620 yr ^thanks Nettie, that makes me feel so much better  It isnt easy to be the minority. the worst part, is that many people love to be stereotyped, and never dare to fall out of them :/ but we coldplay fans...we brake barriers!!! :D I assume you mean BREAK!! :P
