Im Prefering Coldplay To U2 At The Moment

Featured Replies

Haha... maybe it's just a phase, bub.

Let an_cat get in on this one.

LMFAO

Why do I always have to reply to these threads? Someday I'm just not going to reply to ANYTHING related to U2. Just to freak people out.... :sneaky:

No. You are not evil? I go through moods with music too, everybody does. It's ok.

It's just a moment, this time will PAAAAAAASS.

Oh I so had to quote that song, didn't I?.... :uhoh:

I went through a U2 phase in April. Longest music phase I've had yet. By music phase I mean... "Hey, I like this band! *goes to download songs*" Or it could be "Oh I forget how much I love this band!"

I went to the Two Decades of U2 exhibit at the rock and roll hall of fame and illegally touched Bono's pants.

I want the poster I want the poster I want the poster I want the poster.....

*stops self*

  I'm so pathetic

Perhaps I'm the only person who thinks this, but I can't STAND U2. Never could. Give me beautiful, real, melodic, heartwarming, often melancholic but hopeful too, music. Of course I may be slightly prejudiced by the gorgeousness of the guys in Coldplay, in particular Chris and Guy...! :)

I like some songs of U2 but I've never been a fan. I think it's because Bono's voice doesn't do the same to me as Chris's does. And for me voice is very important.

I know they make quality music(and now I'm referring to early albums rather) but they never really managed to fascinate me with their music. That's all.

Not a huge fan of U2, but I do respect them and do own a couple of their records. :)

But don't worry. I was once so into Death Cab and The Postal Service for about 3 months that I completly ignored my dear Coldplay. :(

It happens.

needs fixing, im not a big U2 fan either. I really like a few of their songs, like One, City of Blinding Lights, With or Without You, Where the Streets Have No Name, etc etc and i think they are immensely talented guys.....but when i've listened to their albums the music just doesnt do 'that something' for me like Coldplay does.

Plus there's just something about Bono that i dont like...i cant really put my finger on it, coz he seems like a great guy with a good heart.....i dunno...

I have no idea what im on about!

You're not the only one. ;)

I dont mind some of U2's songs, have some in my iTunes (sometimes you cant make it on your own is nice).... but I find the band to be a bit arrogant, especially Bono...yes they've been around a very long time and I know that you need a bit of arrogance/confidence being famous and all...but it doesnt work for me I'm afraid.

I LOVE U2 and I must say I don't love Coldplay as much and probably never will, U2 had given me something that Coldplay are not yet able to, but it's not their fault of course. I love Bono, what he says, and while I'm here listening to the bootleg from the concert I've been to I can feel the same emotion I had that day, an amazing concert, the first one ever, which I've been waiting for 25 years :o

but hey this is what I think...we all have different taste in music..one thing I'm happy about Coldplay is that I'm following them since the beginning, now more than ever  , while U2 started singing when I was not yet born, so I missed a huge part of their career :(

iriden, oh man. Last night I was listening to Zoo TV bootlegs and oh my god. I actually got MAD at my parents for not having me sooner so I could have gone to the shows.

My mom was like "How were WE to know we were going to give birth to a U2 groupie!?!??"

^   you know I'm actually hating one of my colleagues because she went to see them in Verona for the Zooropa Tour while I was only 13 and still didn't know what good music was :bigcry:
