I don't like comparing them. They are equally good but very different from one another ;)

I HATE and I do mean HATE Oasis. I love both Radiohead and Coldplay for different reasons and I don't like to compair bands. I tend to be more bands I like and bands I don't than this band is better than that band.

What the hell Oasis? Practically no one even remembers them here anymore, despite their new album.

am i the only person who don't really like radiohead?

oasis is alright but they sound the same as always to me..

and comparing bands is just boring, it's not like they strive to be the same..

Well I havnt listened to much Radiohead..but its never jumped out at me...I dont particularly like Oasis. I dont like liam gallagher...Noel is ok...I think he writes more of the songs or something? Oasis...they were big in the 90's now theyre kind of annoying....plus this boy at my art college always plays their songs on his guitar and annoys the HELL outta me!!! over and over again!!!

I dont like Radiohead or Oasis!!!

*waits to have stuff throw at her*

You didn't like Coldplay either, your mum doesn't listen to Radiohead?

I like a few of their songs, just coz they're sorta classics, ya know like Wonderwall, but as for the rest, well its all a bit 'samey'. :/ Plus i cant stand either of the brothers, they just seem like arrogant gobby twats IMO.

I hate this whole comparing bands thing, its so pointless. Its been going on for years now and its really boring. :snore:

I dont like Radiohead or Oasis!!!

Why has she not forced you to listen to them then. I wish Coldplay would play their live shows more like Radiohead, they play a different set list every night. (for people that are traveling show hos like me  )

Haven't ever really listened to Oasis so I guess I can't say much about them

I like some of the stuff that Radiohead have made, actually I'm just listening to OK Computer..

But anyways, there is no other band like Coldplay

Show hos

She made me listen to some of their CDs but i hated it. Made me wanna slit my wrists or something. I think the guys talented n everything, just not my cuppa tea.

Erm....what? No-one remembers them? Number 1 album and 2 number 1 singles this year alone, sell out gigs all the way through their tour, even in the states, hmmm yeah, see what you mean, the people have forgotten all abpout them.

You don`t like them, fair enough, but don`t try to play down how big they are.

Well you sure got your panties up in a bunch, eh?

I never said I don't like them, but it's true that no one here pays them an inch of attention. Old 1990's fans may be filling in their tour venues, because I certainly haven't heard ANY of their recent singles on the radio, nor their video on tv, nothing. Zip. Nada. Oasis' heyday was in the 90's and no one can deny that. I don't see how they can be compared to Coldplay or Radiohead anymore.

I don't mean to insult you, I can tell you're a fan. But here in the US? They're just as good as your average band.

I LOVE Radiohead, they are my all time favourite band. I consider them to be the best of the three acts because they are incredibly versatile and inventive, which are qualities that usually draws me to any artist.

I LOVE Coldplay also. I find their music very emotive, so as I'm not a very emotional person I like acts who's music can provoke emotional responses from me.

As for the other band, they shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Radiohead and Coldplay

Are Radiohead big in America anymore?, I don`t believe so, which makes your point kinda mute, besides, if you`d been to any Oasis gig over the last couple of years, you`d have noticed that there`s more teens there than anyone from the 1990`s.

Also, America isn`t the only country in the world musically, they are one of the biggest bands in the world in the UK, and in alot of over countries in europe as well as in Japan etc.

As far as the rest of the world is concerned Oasis are still big, and didn`t the new album reach 12th in USA Billboard? That kinda indicates people over there have heard them this year, don`t you think?

I may be getting uptight, but when people say things like "Oasis just aren`t big anymore" or "they are not as good as they used to be" it`s usually because people are not taking time out to listen to the new stuff, or just don`t like the Gallaghers, then don`t take in the facts of sell out tours, number 1 albums and singles (again, the world outside the US).

Sorry if it comes across as a bit of flame on you, it`s not intended that way, I just want to explain the way it is.

I cannot believe someone can get so uptight over a tiny comment. I said " Practically no one even remembers them HERE anymore." Meaning the USA. Don't give me your "they're remembered all over the world" bullshit, because I was not referring to "the rest of the world".

Listen.. I'm not here to argue with you. I don't know why you're getting so defensive, you don't even live here to truly know. I have not heard of Oasis anywhere. Not by word of mouth, not on tv, radio.. nowhere. They may still be known because they were huge in the 90's, but that seems to be their saving grace. I do not see how today they fit in with Coldplay and/or Radiohead. U2 would've made for a more appropriate question.

And by the way, Radiohead are still huge here. Despite Coldplay many accomplishments, people still compare Coldplay to Radiohead. Calling them "Radiohead lite". RH's upcoming new album is talked of a lot, my friends won't shut up about it actually. I at no point said "Oasis are not as good as they used to be", all I'm saying is that you hear nothing about them. I don't see any album chart position you throw at me changing that.

"Don't Believe the Truth".. heh. Quite fitting.

Radiohead

but I really don't understand why people always have to compare those bands.

Coldplay is better than both of the others combined.

I cannot believe someone can get so uptight over a tiny comment.

OUCH!!!

victaniac, remind me not to get in your bad books. You're obviously the type of lady, woman, girl, (sorry, didn't know what term to use), I'd regret upsetting.

Heh, who`s the one getting uptight? Certainly not me judging by that last outburst, always amazes me how people get on the attack when you challenge their opinions. you say you werent refering to the rest of the world, but as much as you`d like to disagree, there is a world outside od Usa, and yes it does count, and yes, THEY have heard of them, that`s the last I`m going to say, just because you haven`t heard anything of them, doesn`t mean other people haven`t, and no amount of bad language is gonna change that.

Oasis are easily as good and as big as Coldplay and Radiohead, because, suprisingly enough, big, as in "Biggest band in the world" is a culmanation of both record sales, ticket sales, fans and reviews, and all three, Oasis, Radiohead and Coldplay, all have their share of all of them, just because you say so doesn`t make it a fact.

Now calm down, chill out, and if you wanna have a discussion about our differing veiws, then please do, this is what this thread is for after all :)

I really like both bands, Coldplay and Oasis...

but Oasis are the best!!!
