its stuck in my head and i dont mind it

Any Jay-Z fans in here? He's the only rapper im still really into after years of shitty people coming and going, I think he's awesome.

I'm a sucker for a good beat so Jay-Z has always appealled to me.

 

My fave Jay-Z tracks are Big Pimpin, H to the Izzo, Jigga What, Sunshine, Hard Knock Life, Dirt of Ya Shoulder, 99 Problems, Encore, I Just Wanna Love U, Girls Girls Girls, I Know What Girls Like and Cant Knock the Hustle.

 

Im a big Linkin Park fan, so I was thrilled to hear about their album together, and it exceeded my expectations by miles, its incredible, and just so different to anything i've ever heard before.

 

Not sure if there will be any fans around, (and i'll probably get slated for liking him :/ ) but hey, I thought i'd start a thread and try to find out! :)

Jay z's one of the greatest rappers out there...he's a legend.

Linkin Park are pretty good. But unfortunately, Jay-Z falls under every single stereotype people make about rappers and rap in general. :lol:

 

And in my (and the majority of people's) opinion, he's got no talent. LP made his songs better if anything.

Shiraz, how you can say he is talentless is beyond me. It may not be to your taste, but he certainly has talent.

Hey Steph ... yeah i can say i like Jay-Z ... he is a good rapper .... certainly a rapping legend and has some great songs like the one you mention ... Dirt Off Ya Shoulder is great ... haven't listened to him for such a long time ... i think my liking for hip hop and r n b etc has decreased lately because of so much shit that has been released .... only good thing of late has been Kanye West :D

I don't know. I listened to a few Jay-Z songs, but I didn't think they were any good, even by rap standards. His rapping doesn't flow well.....like he's always spitting out extra syllables here and there and he seems to always be trying to keep up with the beats. I just think Eminem's rapping is more natural, his rapping flows better.

Yes! I totally agree, Kanye West is incredible, the best rapper I have heard in years, and 'Jesus Walks' is probably my favourite rap song of all time, its just so powerful and has a great message, I love it!!!

He's a very very talented man, he has such a fresh, individual style, just awesome.

i like both jay-z and kanye west (specially the latter) but i was really disapointed with jay-z when i heard that he is the one who found rihanna....or at least she is in his record company...i don't know much of this...but i just don't like her and i can't understand how jay-z thought she was talented...

^No, i dont really like her sound either. I didnt mind 'Pon the Replay of whatever it was called, catchy song, but I dont rate her much at all.

My faves would be Jesus Walks, Never Let Me Down, Through The Wire, Gold Digger, Diamonds are Forever .....I also LOVE Dialated Peoples track features him called 'This Way', highly recommend downloading, its so uplifting, love it.

i like the jayz and linken park mix cd.......but i love erm ninety nine problems song!

i don't like linkin park, they're too commercial...it's not like i hate them but their songs after five listenings become really boring and all of their songs sound the same...but the mix they've made with jay-z wasn't bad at all, i think jay-z made them not sound boring...

 

i have to say that i never heard one entire album from kanye west though i would like to...yeah i like Jesus Walks, Gold Digger, Diamonds are Forever too! i also like All fall down and the song with the maroon5 guy (heard 'em say? i guess it's how is called)

Have you listened to the Gray Album by DJ Danger Mouse? It has an interesting mash-up of "The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps" VS. "Jay - Z - What More Can I Say". My brother is a huge Jay- Z fan. I'm always trying to convince him that the Beatles are geniuses. I have good memories of us bobbing our heads while cruising to this tune. If you want I can upload it for you.
