i'd like to introduce russian group "Splean" (because of translation from cyrill letters

sometimes they mentioned as "Splin" or "Spleen" ) . i think we can find some Radiohead influence in their music.they sing in russian so i think a big part of you won't understand what do they sing,but i think you should give a chance them.

 

Splean (also transliterated Splin) (Cyrillic: спЛин) is a popular Russian rock band. They formed in 1993 and released their first album in 1994. For nearly ten years, they have remained one of the most popular rock bands in Russia and the former Soviet Union.

 

The band was formed when lead singer Aleksandr Vasilev, while working in at a theatrical institute, was introduced to keyboardist Nikolai Rostovskiy. The two formed a band, and risking Vasilev's job, began recording their first album in one of the institute's studios at night.

I think Porcupine Tree is a very underrated band (at least in the US, i don't know how popular they are in Europe). Doves are another band nobody really knows. And finally, (don't laugh) John Mayer Trio. I think John Mayer is an extremely talented guitarist but nobody really wants to listen because they think he's still about songs like "Your Body is a Wonderland".

John Mayer's voice is great.....

I am a huge John Mayer fan, but i totally agree with you that a lot of people think he's just about "Your Body is a Wonderland", but he's got plenty of time left in his carreer to prove them wrong.

His albums to date have been amazing, and the trio stuff is so different from anything else around these days.

I can't wait for his new album Continuum.

Crawlinwithin have you ever seen him live? I've seen him solo twice, and the trio once, and let me tell you, its pretty magical.

yes, yes, I completly agree and wish that I could play those songs out loud in public for everyone to get a chance to hear..THe Arcade Fire is popular in some places, but not enough..thought they are Grammy nominees! :smug:
