What should I buy?

Babyshambles - Down In Albion

The Libertines - Up The Bracket

U2 - Best Of 1980-1990

John Frusciante - To Record Only Water For Ten Days

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Mother's Milk

The Who - My Generation - The Very Best Of

...other suggestion?

I can recommend U2 cause I really like the cd ;)

you should more buy a real U2 album, and not a best of.. but maybe you have all the others u2 album. I would buy the album made in Berlin, Achtung Baby... Or you could by something else ;)

^ true.. Achtung Baby is a great one.... and of course the ever popular Joshua Tree...

Buy U2! Best band ever! Plus that best of 80s cd was my first U2 cd and it is really really good.

How could I say anyone else? Definately get the U2! If you don't have any other albums of theirs (or if you've never really listened to them) then the Best Of collection is a great start, particularly 1980-1990.

But if I were to recommend ONE album for you to get, it would probably be 'War'. Excellent, excellent album. The first one of theirs I ever got. If it weren't for that album I probably wouldn't even be remotely interested in U2. ;)

Don't bother with the U2 Greatest Hits. The album edits out a lot of good stuff anyway. Get Mother's Milk, because you seem to be a huge RHCP fan. But, as an_cat said, if you want U2, get WAR. there is not a single weak song on that entire album.

John Frusciante - To Record Only Water For Ten Days

The Libertines - Up the Bracket

Actually you can download alot of libertines stuff of the net -songs like Your my Waterloo and Breck road lover and all sorts of demos and live tracks which pisses on everything they've released.

U2 or The Who.

if you want U2' date=' get WAR. there is not a single weak song on that entire album.[/quote']

on War? Are you having a laugh? The same War that I have? With The Refugee on it?

;)

I recommend the 80-90 if you're a casual U2 fan. Its an excellent document of history and if you're not going to be up for buying the individual albums (Joshua Tree, Rattle & Hum, War, Boy, Unforgettable Fire AND October) I'd say do it. Just remember that New Year's Day is better on War though.

(If you find the version with the b-sides disc, there's some great stuff there too.

Oh my gawd... I love The Refugee... I like to dance around my room late at night to that shit

I think the song that 'War' could go without is actually Two Hearts Beat As One... I have NO idea why I'm not fond of that song, I don't have any reason to be. I just find myself skipping it the most. Yet that's still a rare occurance ;)

I like Two Hearts Beat As One...the song I could do without on War is Red Light...but it is definetely a great album.

^^ Wow, everyone is digging U2.

In the end I've bought Up The Bracket. Because I'm so into The Libs right now. But I'll get the U2 one anyhow! I want to have the Best Of because I have the Best Of 1990-2000 and the latest album too and I want to complete my collection, having the "most important" U2 songs on CD.

Today I've bought myself the old Wonderwall single by Oasis :) It's one of my favourite songs of all time and I wanted it to stand in my CD shelf.

Man I think Two Hearts Beat As One is one of the best songs on War. I love that album, so underrated yet amazingly good. Better than October, Boy, or the Unforgettable Fire by a country mile.

And Red Light is actually one of my favourite songs on War, I absolutely love it but don't understand why so many people don't like it....that combo of Surrender and Red Light is amazing!

Too late Julia! But I really got into The Who recently. When I got to know you I knew hardly two songs by them! But My Generation caused it, it's one of the best songs I've ever heard. And the cover by Oasis is even a bit better.

yes yes. Anything would be a good choice. I would give a suggestion as to which Radiohead album to go for, but I don't know if you have any already
