Oh yeah! You can get such good deals with those cheap airlines, good idea!

Nah I wouldn't think so, probably really cheap! Then I think the train from London Marylebone to Portsmouth costs 17.50 each way (if i've calculated it right!). Then you have to pay for the boat that takes you across to the Island...and I think thats fairly cheap.

yep, right... :) I dunno, we'll see. the next problem is that I think someone has to come with me, because I don't think my parents would allow me to stay at a youth hostel or something in london on my own... they would get mad, I guess.

I don't knoooww...

*If* I get to go, there might be someone I can stay with who lives over there.

Sarah I'm having the same problems...I found cheap flights to London and back but I don't know how to arrange the rest :\

^yes, it's so complicated...

Yep, plus I've never been to London or UK before...I'm hoping one of my friends wants to come too :)

*crosses fingers*

oooooooooooooh this is all SO exciting! I cannot wait now!

Sarah and Denise, it would be so worth the trip if you came!!! from London Gatwick airport(very near me) it is pretty cheap to get to Portsmouth Harbour...I get the train that goes on to there everyday and it comes from London Victoria. Or from Heathrow down to Southampton.

sounds good... but I looked for youth hostels and that's kinda expensive for two or three nights... plus, I have no idea how to find it when I'm in london. lol

Me too kara!!!! *squeel* :juggle: :D :juggle: :D :juggle:

96 DAYS AND COUNTING!!!!!!!!!

:freak:

Sarah, if you gave the name/address of the hostel to any black cabbie driver they would find it for you im sure! :)

Sarah....it is really easy to get to Southampton and Portsmouth by train from London...no changing trains or anything...it only takes an hour at the most! I can see your situation though, from a different country and not being with anyone. :) hope that you find a way to come!!

96!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wahh!

I also hope so, but at the moment I don't think so, to be honest... :( would be far too great...

What do you think is the better solution? Using a train to Southampton or to Portsmouth? Which one is cheaper and shorter?

That is so awsome! I'm going to be in Portsmouth then so I'm really, really hoping I can get tickets, especially as it will be their only appearence this summer.

awwwwwwwww I just saw a news report about it on South Today, had a long vid of the boys' fix you gig part vid in the background...I might tape it tonight. ooooooh!

Both Southampton and Portsmouth are easy to get to and the ferries usually take between 15 - 20 minutes depending on where you go from. Once you get to the Island there are buses which go to Newport although I am not sure what the arrangements will be to get to the festival from either Cowes or Ryde (if you catch the HI-speed services). Hope that this helps.

Yeah that helps thank you!

Do you also know the exactly prices of a two way train ticket from London to Southampton or Portsmouth? Is it about 20£ (~33€) or is this the price of a one way ticket?!

Questions over questions I know... :D

OMG!! that's so cool!! Foo fighters and coldplay!! g'luck to all over there at the fest!!

Yeah that helps thank you!

I am not entirely sure as I do not travel to or from London to either Southampton or Portsmouth anymore. I will try and find out for you if you want.

For train and ticket information try the link below:

For the weekend before the festival, it will cost approximately £28.20 return to Portsmouth.

Then for Southampton it will be about £30.90.

These prices are is you purchase them in advance.

Hope that this info helps people!!
