Yeah, I agree about going on with someone else. There's one thing you don't want happening, and that's giving it all away the first minute. When reading both of those great fics, and I'd just finished one great John&Stan chapter, then go to the next one to find it was Peter oriented, I was all damn damn damn I don't think I can wait til finishing this whole chapter to see what's coming next. But actually, I meant I'm glad there's this little chapter to let me breath and get my heart back to it's normal beating rate. It builds up and you can get some great parallel/secondary stories to make it even more interesting.

THe guy (girl?) says in their first post that they’re new to the Libs. There’s nothing wrong with wondering if Peter and Carl were lovers. All he did was wonder, it’s not like he was like “omg Peter and Carl did it? How? Where? When? What position? I can’t listen to the band anymore unles I know the details NOW!”

 

I think some of you forget completely how huge the whole Libs world is to a newbie… Arcadia, Albion, Peter’s life and talents, Carl’s life and talents, the different members in the band over the years, Legs 11, The Albion Rooms, everything - there’s alot to “learn” and there some to be some snobby types who’ve forgotten that learning all that is a happy adventure..and yes, included in that list is the mystery over what relationship Peter and Carl had. There’s no need to act snobby with him for wondering, or act like it’s a stupid question. Though I’m sure it makes some of you feel good to act like the jaded old Libs vets who know it all and who are the arbiters of what we can and cannot talk about on this forum.

It may have been around for years, but to a newbie, it’s new. Just like everything else. Nobody’s saying they’re going to love the band any less whether or not Peter and Carl were lovers, but it’s normal to wonder about it. If some people don’t think about it at all - then fine. But plenty of people have wondered about it over the years - and thats ok too. The bond, the obviously intense connection Peter and Carl have, is fascinating and beautiful to a lot of people. From it came a ton of great music. There’s nothing wrong with wondering how deep that bond went.
