Mmmmmm.......haven't heard of them - people can analyse and notate music trying to discover what makes it powerful, but the power of music can never be expressed in numbers and words - like a Yeti in can never be pinpointed and pigeon-holed

Yes and no

 

Yeti's sound, though, unheard has been described as the new psychedelic scene in Liverpool. Ala The Choral, The Zutons - was that the original intention?

Not at all - I do like the Choral, the Bandits, the Stands et al. but I think it's rather a case of who we all have been influenced by

Unintentional - the whole point of Yeti is that I try to write the best music I can, without having to conform or be anything I don't want.

Yes I always had the intention a starting a band and from the beginning I've had a clear idea of how - I guess I've been in so many other people's band that I think I know how it should be done!

Neither - it has none of the hedonism of psychedelia and none of the nihilism of punk -

How did you come across the other members of the band?

Harmony used to live with Carl (Barat), Brendan used to play bass in a band that used to support the libs at Filthy McNasty's, andy and I have a mutual friend and Graham drinks down my pub!

No, it tends to open up alot a boring doors

 

Yeti seems to me like a band rather than a side-project. Is that why you took on the monthly residency at the Highgate Boogaloo Bar to demonstrate that this is ‘a working live act'.

The first show was amazing - it was at my mate's brother's birthday party - we'd only played with Graham for 4 hrs - and he was perfect - it all seemed to fit into place
