Wow, I read the beginning of this thread :shocked3: . It was cool, peoples thoughts from a while ago. I remember what I thought when I found out Gwyneth named her child Apple. :) :) :)It was long before I knew about Chris or Coldplay. :shrug:

 

Yeah I heard Gwyneth named her daughter Apple on the radio. I hadn't even heard of Coldplay (I was eight - forgive me please!:embarassed:) and I was like "WTF? Is she hungry or something?"

I have just seen the movie "Sylvia" with Gwyneth Paltrow as Sylvia and her mother Blythe Danner as her mother in the movie as well. Blythe Danner only appears for a few minutes, whereas Gwyneth Paltrow has the leading role. She does an amazing job playing the famous author Sylvia Plath. A very good movie and performance in my opinion.

Yeah I was about eight or nine, I was like at a store and saw it in a magizine. Haha I remember thinking (and its crazy) I never liked her. "ugh who would marry her? She is sooo ugly! And why would she name her kid Apple? Shouldn't her husband have something to say about this" I mean I still can't believe I would think this. Haha and then like last year I was watching Coldplay on Friday night with Jonathon Ross from like a few years ago and he said some stuff and I just guessed that it was Gwyneth, haha and like then I saw on TV like fifteen min. after that on the news that they could be getting a divorce. But they weren't...And then I was like OMG Chris named his kids Apple, and Moses, and he is married to Gwyn. But now I have kinda acceppted it. Haha anyways that was a really long story.

Yeah she's alright. Her and Chris are happy and that's the main thing, Chris' happiness...

It was released in 2004 I believe. But it's fantastic.

She was shooting Sylvia while she was pregnant with apple. I saw some old pics on the set with Chris and he was soo caring handlig the costumes :)

It was before she was pregnant, it was just after her dad died and she had started dating Chris, end of 2002.

They move to America, but soon moves back to England (Devon). They have two children, and they love and hate each other alternately. But Sylvia gets more and more unsecure, stressed and unhappy - until the inevitable sad ending! Instr: Christine Jeffs. Cast: Gwyneth Paltrow, Blythe Danner, Jared Harris and Daniel Craig.

 

I think that it was a very good performance by all the actors / actresses.

 

In the movie, Sylvia Plath's book "The Bell Jar" is mentioned. It is "her only novel" and "was originally published under a pseudonym in 1963". I have the book and as you might have guessed I have the information about the book from the cover of it. Faber Paperbacks, ISBN 0 571 08178 9

You're welcome, fixmechris. I wrote that I have the book - I have also read it of course, even though it is many years ago. But I vaguely remember it - the book was very good.

oh you are right! I've read the book and watched the film too. Before I watched the film I thought it is the adaptation of the novel, but it's focused on their relationship. I

btw I've heard that Plath son committed suicide earlier this year. How sad is that. After I watched the movie I was wondering what had happened to her kids? I searched the net and found they live a quite normal life. Then some month later I read that about Sylvia's son....

Ugh! Sorry, but I think Gwyneth looks really ugly in those pictures, she isn't a natural beauty after all and sometimes I can't understand why Chris chose her...maybe just for the Hollywood-fame? Without make-up her thin lips and almost non-existent eyebrows become visible...

 

But I have to admit that her character in interviews comes along as quite appealing and she is one damn lucky lady...
