"Ryan Murphy was at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles last night and he just so happened to discuss the upcoming Gwyneth Paltrow guest appearance on Glee. Ryan's in the middle of filming the episode with his real-life friend right now, and he was more than willing to tell everyone what he had planned for her.

 

Apparently, Gwynnie will play a "terrible" substitute teacher (which is weird, considering we had initially heard all the kids would love her), sing a song from Chicago, and "scream at a teapot while dressed as Mary Todd Lincoln." Whatever that means. Anyway, we can wait to see what Gwyneth can bring to McKinley High, so long as she doesn't mention GOOP."

GWYNETH PALTROW, KATE HUDSON, HILARY SWANK and DIANE KRUGER were among the honorees at Elle magazine's annual Women in Hollywood awards in Los Angeles on Monday night (18Oct10).

 

The glitzy ceremony paid tribute to the female stars for their impact on the film industry, and others who received a nod included Jodie Foster, Diane Keaton, Sofia Coppola and Kerry Washington.

 

Paltrow was presented with her prize by her Proof co-star Jake Gyllenhaal, who took the stage and told the crowd about working with the multi-talented actress.

 

He said, "Bottom line, she is not a mere mortal like the rest of us... She is an internet-savvy, award-winning, lifestyle guru, making all of us look lazy. She doesn't just find a nice guy to settle down with - she marries a rock star and then domesticates him. She doesn't just cook - she goes to Spain with Mario Batali and then domesticates him! She is not just a lifestyle guru, but she invents a whole new fitness movement and then convinces me to try it, and I do it, and I am, therefore, domesticated... sweating my a** off in spandex, which is humbling and embarrassing

When Paltrow, 38, took the stage, she said she didn't have a speech because, "I kind of wanted to speak from my heart." And she was more candid than ever.

 

"Jake is gorgeous and hilarious and when we worked together in 'Proof,' I was pregnant and I was a f------ nightmare hormonal mess, but we managed to stay friends through it anyways," she said.

 

Since "Proof," she said, "I had my kids and everything

really changed for me, so I feel so honored that you are honoring me because I feel like I have shifted focus so much.

 

"I have this really great guy [Coldplay's Chris Martin], and these two great kids, and I feel like that was all a process of getting me to where I am.

 

"I am a woman in Hollywood and I am a mother in Hollywood and I come from a woman in Hollywood, my mother Blythe," she concluded. "I think that she did such a good job teaching me how to be a woman in Hollywood, teaching me good values, and I hope to pass that on to my kids."

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow to sing at CMA Awards

 

 

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Actress Gwyneth Paltrow will be taking the stage at next month's Country Music Association Awards — as a performer.

 

She'll sing the title track of her new movie, "Country Strong," and will be joined by Vince Gill.

 

Paltrow stars in the film with Tim McGraw, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester. She plays a washed up country singer who gets romantically involved with a rising singer-songwriter (Hedlund). They try to resurrect her career with a major tour, headed up by her husband/manager (McGraw) and featuring a beauty-queen-turned-singer (Meester.)

 

Paltrow says she researched a lot of country music history for this role.

 

"I sort of started at the beginning with Hank (Williams) Sr. and Johnny Cash and really studied Dolly (Parton) and Loretta Lynn, and kind of just started at the beginning and went all the way through and found the people that I really love and who inspired me," she told The Associated Press in a recent interview.

 

In addition to classic country stars, Paltrow also has some current country music favorites.

 

"I really like a lot of the young women in country right now, like Ashley Monroe and Miranda Lambert," she said. "I had never really known very much about country music, and I now am very into it. I know a lot more about it than I did."

 

The film hits theaters in Los Angeles and Nashville on Dec. 22 and nationwide on Jan. 7. The soundtrack will be released Oct. 26.

 

Previously announced performers for the CMA Awards include Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban. Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson will perform together, and Miranda Lambert and Sheryl Crow will sing a duet to honor Loretta Lynn's 50th anniversary as a recording artist.

 

The CMA Awards will air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena Nov. 10 on ABC.

Gwyneth is on Great American Country (GAC) this weekend being interviewed as part of their Top 20 Countdown show. According to the interview we can expect to see quite a bit of her as the promo for "Country Strong" heats up. She talked about how terrifying it was for her to shoot the concert footage of the movie. Interviewer said something to the effect of "You got a taste of what your husband Chris goes through" and Gwyneth said "Yes, but these people were being paid to hear me sing and for him it's quite the opposite!"

 

She said that she really works to be the best wife and mother she can be.

 

And at the end when asked what is coming up she said something like "I don't know, maybe I'll have another baby!" :shocked2:

The couple — who already raise daughter Apple and son Moses — are said to be keen to add to their brood.

 

“Gwyneth has wanted another baby for a long time,” a source said. “But Chris has been against the idea as he has been too busy with his music career.

 

“But he seems to have had a change of heart and they’re now planning to get pregnant before Gwyneth hits 40.”

 

Reports earlier this year claimed Paltrow thinks baby number three will help fix her marriage to the Coldplay rocker.

 

“Gwyneth is desperate for her marriage to survive and she thinks having another child will solve all of their problems,” a source said in May. “And if she can’t get pregnant again, she’ll consider adoption.

 

“Chris is unhappy with the amount of time Gwyneth spends working, so she has agreed to cut back on her projects — but he still isn’t happy.

 

“Gwyneth feels she has no other choice.”
