An update: we are on speaking terms in the friendly capacity, in the process of trying to figure out what is going on between us. I feel a lot better now that we're talking though :)

So I kissed my friend tonight, only for a minute, and now I dont know where I stand with her, and vice versa.

 

The taxi ride was awkward enough, I cant imagine tomorow...

Me and this girl who I made the topic about are best friends, really really close, but we still get drunk on occasion and get...silly. Then the 'No Spending the Night Together' rule was invented, because although we can easily control ourselves when sober, it puts us down that road of confusion where its natural to spend the night in the same bed, and when we've been drinking, it gets... Silly.

 

So its been an uneventful and healthy friendship for the past few weeks, which is good. I gotta be honest though, Im happy being friends but I dont know about her, sometimes. Maybe Im just being arrogant.

 

So I really like a girl at uni, and I thought I was getting on very well with her, and that I was in with a chance. UNTIL- it turns out shes a lesbian. Good Gahd, somebody give me a break.

 

And just to fuck things up completely, me, the lesbian and the girl I wrote this topic about, went out one night, got really drunk... (This is the point where you think- 'GO ON RILES!' but wait) and the lesbian kissed her.

I feel like I should be heartbroken but its just way too fucked up to even try to comprehend. Theres just no way you possibly cannot laugh at it.

Well, love triangle has been weird. My friend is happy to stick with the "No spending the night together" rule, its totally mutual, but sometimes late at night when I'm over at hers watching DVDs and such, never really know when to leave. We still get very close to eachother, physically, it would look very confusing to an outsider. When we're drunk we've managed to not kiss eachother for the past couple weeks but we hug eachother really closely and talk to eachother, face to face, mouth to mouth, so that our lips are actually kindof kissing anyway. I dont know if Im comfortable, its just confusing.

 

With the lesbian, we still spend nights together, completely drunk. I still havent made that pivotal move, just to try and see. My logic was: Its unfair to kiss someone whos made a life choice, and confuse them when they are drunk smacked out of their brains. But then she did the exact same thing to my best friend, so its go time. The next time we're both mortalled underneath the sheets, I'm breaking that imaginary Wall of China down the middle of the matress and playing some serious tongue tennis, whether she wants to or not.

 

And if she doesnt, and I make a tool out of myself, I genuinely wont care at all, she'll still be a good friend if nothing more.

 

And if she does, then I should be given some kind of global award of respect, like the Nobel Peace Prize, even if my actions bear no relevance to the award or its past recipients, I deserve it. And an Oscar too.

Whats funny is, I read this one day, all 21 pages (at the time) to refresh my memory of everything that had happened, so I could put dates on every event and completely remember everything, and I skipped all the fricken good parts!

 

Its like 20 pages spanning over 10 god damn weeks of 'She glanced at me and I didnt know what to do, so I wrote a poem about it and weeped into my pillow' and then suddenly stop writing about it for a while and come back with 'Well, after weeks of sex I think we're just good friends now.'
