this pic is so awesome. looks so good. well done!

oh' date=' i forgot, Jonny had a SOLO SINGING PART. The second verse of "don't panic". Chris said it was for the first time in CT, but I'd never heard of him doing that ANYWHERE, so I freaked out. He seemed really shy and looked like he was going to wet his pants, but he was great!! Unfortunately, his voice is so low that he was really really hard to hear, but I have it on video. If I ever figure out how to post it, I will.[/quote']

he also did this at the toronto shows. i got it on vid.

and also, that girl is super lucky to get to go up on stage and be so close to the band. if that we're me, i dunno what i'd do. i'd take vids and pics to make others jealous or something! and to remember it forever! ha ah!

First time seeing these guys and was amazed at how well of a show they put on. Great show!!! Was wondering if anybody could help me ID a track. It was played during the intermission between Ashcroft and Coldplay. It was the second to last song being played just before Coldplay came on. The lights started going down a bit and it seemed like it was a tune they've played before. I say that because the crowd knew something was up when they started playing the song. Great vocal. Had an Oasis sort of sound to it. Very Brit rock. Any help would be greatly appreciated or any idea where I could go to try and find this??? And do they actually do set lists of the intermission tunes??? Because they actually played a good number of solid tunes I'd never heard before. Thanks

lmfao um....

Well, that's because it IS brit rock. The ORIGINAL britrock!

It's 'Tomorrow Never Knows' by The Beatles

;)

Wow, that was quick. Thanks :D I knew I heard it before. But I don't believe it was the Beatles version. Thats why it caught me off guard I guess. It was a lil bit faster and had more of a modern sound to it. And do you know if they do a setlist for the intermission at all??? There really were some cools jams they were playing. Kept me groovin. I'd love to support a bunch of those artists as well. Love hearing new stuff :D

I'm positive it was the Beatles' version, it probably just sounded a lot different being blasted over the PA, bouncing around the place. ;)

I don't know if there is a setlist for the stuff they play over the PA, but I enjoyed it as well and would also like to know! Hm... Perhaps a question that would be better asked in the everything music section! People could know around there...

its the beatles version 100%, the same mix and everything. thats their signal to come onstage, and im glad they picked such an amazing song to be their cue.

i actually kinda got into coldplay because of the beatles (im probably the biggest beatle geek that walked the planet). i heard that "the scientist" was based on george harrison's "isnt it a pity" so i checked it out (my mom had AROBTTH and i knew clocks and that was pretty much it) and then the whole album...and the rest is history. i really totally fell in love last march/april (whenever the SoS video came out), and there were all these good beatle omens at my first coldplay concert right after i was just really becoming obsessed, so i kinda got their permission to become obsessed with another band just as much as them.

well. now that we know im a HUGE lameo...

Don't worry, I get exactly what you're saying. I did everything backwards, though. Coldplay was my first band that I ever liked. I discovered them after the 'Trouble' video came out on MTV, jeez... was that 2001?? I don't know, but I think it's been about 5 or 6 years now that I've liked them. About 2 years ago I "discovered" the Beatles and wouldn't have gotten into them as much as I did if it hadn't been for the similarities I could hear through Coldplay's music. The same goes for U2, who are now my favorite band in the whole world. I can't thank Coldplay enough for coming into my life when they did, because then I wouldn't be into all these other great bands!

I must compliment you, Awhisper21, for someone who has only "recently" (well, a year is fairly recent) become a Coldplay fan, two concerts in a row is quite an accomplishment!!! I've been a fan for a long time and I haven't even managed that!!;)

I became a Coldplay fan about 2 years ago... And then got really into them when Speed of Sound came out (I played SoS beforee X and Y came out so much that I am actually sick of it now and would skip it on X&Y after listening to it once all the way through)....

I was at the Meadows and Mohegan sun..And Mohegan blew the Meadows concert away...The energy was so much better...

But I will be scared for my life when I go to Dave Matthews Band at the Meadows this year...2 years in a row with riots (maybe even longer)...so hopefully I don't die on July 28th!

I "discovered" the Beatles and wouldn't have gotten into them as much as I did if it hadn't been for the similarities I could hear through Coldplay's music. An_cat...that's exactly what happened to me. Back when AROBTTH was released, I heard a lot of buzz about it on TV and such...so when I saw it at Target for $8, I picked it up, figuring I couldn't go wrong. That was probably back in '03 and now the rest is history!

Soon, I heard Coldplay being compared to all these other bands (U2 in particular) and began to like them, too. For most of my life, I bounced around from genre to genre in music...but thanks to Coldplay, I'm now firmly in love with Britrock. Basically, my three favorite bands are now Coldplay, U2, and Keane. And that's all due to Coldplay.

The Beatles are one of the most amazing groups in history. I think it's great that they're 25 years before my time...but I still have the same respect for them that my parents did in their generation. I must say...Strawberry Fields Forever is the greatest song EVER written.

And there's my musical rant. :)

I saw them for the first time at this venue. My friends and I treked it from NYC to see them. And it was definitely worth it. The concert was flippin' fantastic.
