May 11, 200620 yr I think a double album was the right thing to do. I am liking mars a lot more now though. Its growing on me. I just dont like, "If" and "Death of a Martian", but Animal Bar is awesome!
May 11, 200620 yr I think the double disc is better. The style of both albums is quite the same, so people would maybe get quite bored with it. Especially In Michigan! That one is awesome! And so far: Slow Cheetah Hump De Bump (that's what the Chili's are about really) Torture Me Tell Me Baby Hard To Concentrate (interesting) are my favourites. But I gotta listen to it more often.

Best SA Tracks: Desecration Smile Dani California Tell Me Baby Storm in a Teacup Slow Cheetah Especially in Michigan Animal Bar Wet Sand Too many slow songs, and none kick you in the ass like past songs such as Under the Bridge, Give It Away, Scar Tissue, Can't Stop, Dosed etc.

May 12, 200620 yr I find the album may not have individual songs as good as some of the other albums but I think as a whole it doesn't have many filler or weak tracks.

John was going for it major styllleee, he can sure play...he always has his mouth open when hes playing with that expression....this is f***in amaaaazing!!! :laugh4:

May 13, 200620 yr Well...I also ahve the album....and I'm not amazed by it...some songs are good that's it..maybe I'll change my opinion...but I expected something new...and somehow I can't see something new...one thing that really pisses me off about them is that they have good verses (the tune) but then the chorus makes the song a crappy song...I mean often the chorus is repeated way too much..and many choruses sound the same...sorry.... they don't seem to get back to the old days.....like "Blood sugar sex magic" this was funky....I don't know how it is with "mother's milk"...i don't know that... But if they consider themselves as a funk band they are not on the right way...though the new album is a little bit more funky thna "By the way"....but only some bass lines and that's it!

I like the By the Way album alot so maybe that is why I like the new album so much. They don't really strike me as a funk band right now. Maybe a maturing funk band haha
