So if just Jupiter or just Mars were released as a single album, do you think it would be good or is releasing a double disc the way to go?

I think a double album was the right thing to do. I am liking mars a lot more now though. Its growing on me. I just dont like, "If" and "Death of a Martian", but Animal Bar is awesome!

I think the double disc is better. The style of both albums is quite the same, so people would maybe get quite bored with it.

Too many slow songs, and none kick you in the ass like past songs such as Under the Bridge, Give It Away, Scar Tissue, Can't Stop, Dosed etc.

I think the nu album is way too long! It never ends... some songs are great, but some other ones are c*ap...

I don't think it is too long and I think most of the songs are great not cr*ap or p**p.

I find the album may not have individual songs as good as some of the other albums but I think as a whole it doesn't have many filler or weak tracks.

but I agree John is amazing!!!!!! My friends a HUUUGE fan and lent me this dvd of them at some castle in Ireland...was brilliant. John was going for it major styllleee, he can sure play...he always has his mouth open when hes playing with that expression....this is f***in amaaaazing!!! :laugh4:

Well...I also ahve the album....and I'm not amazed by it...some songs are good that's it..maybe I'll change my opinion...but I expected something new...and somehow I can't see something new...one thing that really pisses me off about them is that they have good verses (the tune) but then the chorus makes the song a crappy song...I mean often the chorus is repeated way too much..and many choruses sound the same...sorry....

 

they don't seem to get back to the old days.....like "Blood sugar sex magic" this was funky....I don't know how it is with "mother's milk"...i don't know that...

 

 

But if they consider themselves as a funk band they are not on the right way...though the new album is a little bit more funky thna "By the way"....but only some bass lines and that's it!

I like the By the Way album alot so maybe that is why I like the new album so much. They don't really strike me as a funk band right now. Maybe a maturing funk band haha
