Chili Peppers not hot for WA

PERTH music fans are not giving up on the Red Hot Chili Peppers coming to Perth next year, despite WA being left off the band's Australian tour schedule.

Radio station Nova 937 has launched a petition to bring the American rockers to Perth. Nova promotions and marketing manager Rachael Speight said there was still hope. "There's no date, but signing a petition will help,'' she said.

"It worked with Coldplay, and we had a (successful) Robbie Williams petition for a second concert. We hope the petition will help bring them to Perth and secure a gig.''

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are due to play in Adelaide on April 7, Melbourne on April 10, Brisbane on April 13 and Sydney on April 16. Promoter Michael Coppel said scheduling issues in Japan had complicated Australian tour arrangements.

The online petition can be found on Nova's website http://www.nova937.com.au

RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS TO TOUR AUSTRALIA

hey guys...

thought i'd let all you aussie chilli peppers fans know that the tickets for their april show go on sale this friday (just got tickets presale).

adelaide, brisbane sydney are selling through ticketek - http://www.ticketek.com.au

melbourne is ticketmaster7- http://www.ticketmaster7.com.au

yeah thought i'd let y'all know before its too late. i missed out on placebo tix because of this :(

Ha ha... one of my friends on Myspace wants to see one of those shows.

Don't know why I'm sharing that information.

^^ sharing is caring :nice:

i'm am definitely going to see them. but i'm not fussed with floor tickets. maybe the lower res area.

i'm already ringing my friends to prepare for the general sale on thursday! yay, this has made my day!

me neither! :blank:

there are tickets available in sydney for the U2 concert, i'd usually jump at the chance but i really wanted to see rhcp.

I wonder how that Perth petition is going lol....hmm

(btw get the U2 tickets!! You wouldnt regret it)

yeah it's still a possibility but hmmm i don't know, i'm so torn. so many decisions yet so little time...:stunned:

lol as much as i think their efforts should be rewarded, i really don't think it's gonna happen for the westerners.

yeah i know...that sux really......although if they did, i wouldnt mind a trip west

really? you'd actually fly over to perth? my goodness, that's determination. as much as i looove rhcp, i can't see myself travelling that far. i can however see myself buying tickets then exchanging them with a perthy who purchased a eastern city ticket in desperation :bulb:

Well im not dead certain I'd do it, but I was willing to fly to Sydney...although Sydney is closer and cheaper to get to, I would have gone with friends and have a mini holiday as well.....we could always have a holiday in perth i spose....but at this point i think its no RHCP for me or my mates this year

i know. it is seriously devastating. what really gets me is i was fully prepared and ready to buy my tickets.

they opened more concerts in the main cities and they were all sold out so maybe, maybe, they may decide on adding one final concert in cities with high demand. it's a long shot but one more for brisbane would make my year!

Oooh.

This thread needs bumping.

Cause. They are the best band in the world (Better than Coldplay, admit it) and awesome and I'm going to see them in August in Scotland and it's gonna be brilliant.

:)

Anyone who thinks that they sound the same on every song and are rubbish hasn't taken the time to listen to them properly.

I think all their stuff sounds the same.

Just joking. There was a long debate about that here a while ago. I was on the 'they don't all sound the same' side.

What is your favourite album by them Jack?

Haha. You on Myspace Jon? I made a big huge blog post about it. Haha. It's By The Way, by the way. :)

I just added you on myspace.

I think By the Way may be my favourite album by them, but I haven't listened to all of Blood Sex Magic

You sure? I didn't get any add invites.

and, I have all Chili Peppers albums haha. They take up like, an entire CD rack. :P

Yup :)

Just read it, nice story. I love the memories that you get when you first hear a band you really love.
