Well, Chilis are good band. But.... they are way to commercial. They like lost their originality... Coldplay is much better to my mind. Much more mellow music, nice texts.

 

i really dont think they are commercial at all... i cant think of any other band that even sounds close to them...their sound is really unique and i think it has stayed unique. :)

the first disc off their last album Stadium Arcadium was the closest they ever got to pop but the other disc was as alternative and unique as u can get. they will go down in history as being one of the most unique (and bizarre) rock bands ever with their blend of rock funk punk metal and rap. i really dont think coldplay fans should be having a go at rhcp cos they are too "commercial".

both bands are amazing!! rhcp is prolly my second fav. band after coldplay! ;) i love them....did anyone ever read Anthony and Larry's book Scar Tissue???

@ deaths_friend: true what you said about SA. If some people call it pop, it's Ok with me. Even Flea talked about them as a pop band. Now where did I read/hear that... :thinking:

One of the best bands of the last 20 years... Their latest album was extremely weak and disappointing. By The Way and Californication were wonderful and Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik is a masterpiece.

 

John Frusciante is by far one of the greatest guitar players of all time. I have been fortunate enough to see RHCP twice and actually meet Frusciante and Chad Smith.

Some of my favourite songs of theirs are Scar Tissue, Dosed, and Universally Speaking. I aslo think the video for Can't Stop is genius.

Hopefully, this gets the creative juices flowing and they decided to get back to work some time in the very near future. I know, I know...they're on a break. Gotta recover from that stressful life of being a musician. :rolleyes:

i dont see the band doing anything official together as a 4-piece for the rest of the year. reading some of the stuff john has been saying he doesnt want to associate himself with anything RHCP related at all.

 

their last tour was almost 140 dates and that was on the back of about 9years of heaving touring and recording. unlike alot of other bands they dont just stand there and play their instruments for 2hrs.
