August 18, 200718 yr I listened to the X&Y album for he first time in a while the other day. I haven't been in the mood for Coldplay too much lately... Maybe I just need new Coldplay material to listen to.
August 18, 200718 yr Me too! I can't remember the last time I listened to Coldplay. Oh, I'm so ashamed! :embarassed:
August 18, 200718 yr ^annie: listened carefully to the TGI fridays commercial, and youre right! the guitar is very "ode to deodorant"-esque. pretty funny. we just got a new fridge that has a digital display saying how cold the freezer and fridge are respectively. a few days ago, the freezer was -1 degrees (F) and the fridge was 37 degrees F, so i sneakily changed the fridge temp to 36 degrees F so now every time i look at it, the display reads 1 36. :smug:
August 18, 200718 yr Bring back the days when new bands didn't try too hard to look cool and trendy and well-dressed. I bought the Select magazine from 2001 that Coldplay were on the cover of off ebay the other day and what the pictures and interview brought back to me was how normal and naturally 'cool' C,J,G,W are and how they let the music do the work and not the image.
August 19, 200718 yr ^ i totally agree. i liked it so much better when they wore their own stupid t-shirts and vintage jeans and sweatshirts rather than wearing all black and trying to be hip and cool. had some sort of dream about chris last night, but i cant remember it.
August 21, 200718 yr The bus driver's name who took me from Heathrow to Gatwick was Chris... Coldplay seems to be all around us.
August 21, 200718 yr The Speed of Sound video came on Vh1 this morning! I was so happy. :nice: And the new star on coldplay.com is about the video! Coincedence? lol.
August 21, 200718 yr Fix You 2 years ago, when I moved from Eugene, Oregon to Bradenton, Florida. I came back to visit after about 2 months of staying in Florida. On my last night, after I dropped off all of my friends at their houses, I was on my way back to my parents house and there is a long straight away stretch about 2 miles long with lights on both of sides of the street leading straight to my house, and I was already listening to "Fix You" and right as I turned on the to the street, chris started to say "...lights will guide you home." and as the music started to speed up memories poured into my mind of my childhood and teenage years because I would always go down that street to get to school, go to a friends house, go to football games, go to parties, I mean everything. I don't know, just thought I'd share another cliche' movie moment :-)
August 24, 200718 yr I went to dinner with my field hockey team after a 7-0 victory. :D And they had music on in the pizza place and towards the end Clocks came on. Perfect night. :nice:
August 25, 200718 yr I don't know if it's only part of those rare situations of my life or those magic moments that comes in front of you in seconds called "signs"... but each time i'm with my boyfriend(we could be in the car, or just in a restaurant or even in the movie) there is a Coldplay song that we hear...AND IT occurS always we are together ... and it's very unusual to hear Coldplay hear in Panama.. that's why i still surprised each time it happens... Coincidences...I Don't believe...;)
August 26, 200718 yr Yesterday I caught the end of Coldplay's performance of In My Place at the VMAs (think it was in my place anyway, I don't really remember)... It was number 54 in MTVs top 100 VMA performances.
August 27, 200718 yr 'Tears stream down your face, I promise you I will learn from my mistakes' That line always comes up in my mind everytime I think of a mistake that I made to a friend and that song makes me want to cry. I wish there's something that I can do to make things right again. :(
August 28, 200718 yr I went out for jogging a bit on Saturday, and someone wrote "Chris" in wet concrete. And on sunday, I went to Walmart and they played "The Scientist" on the radio. It made my day.
August 28, 200718 yr I was listening to Coldplay on my iPod late at night before I fell asleep, and I just bursted out crying when listening to 'The Scientist'. I don't know why, I guess it's because I'm emotionally frustrated right now. It made me feel better though. And I usually listen to 'For You' around this time, because it reminds me of late August last summer. I like going back and reliving the good past.
August 28, 200718 yr my mom was just whistling "clocks" in the kitchen. of course, it could have been the song from that STUPID chrysler commercial that uses a rip-off of "clocks" and makes me angry. it follows me around.
August 31, 200718 yr my mom was angry at me yesterday because i didnt order a new Pearl Jam DVD for her straight away (Pearl Jam is her absolute favorite band, like i am with coldplay. This new DVD is kinda like Live 2003). i wanted to wait to get her permission to order it, but she was pissed and said i should have done it right away because there was no doubt that she would have wanted it. "if one of the guys from coldplay farted in an envelope we'd be racing out to get it," she said. "why is this any different?" i just about passed out from laughing :laugh4:
September 1, 200718 yr all I have to say is my signature with an image...:D:D..that is exactly what it means

"why is this any different?" i just about passed out from laughing :laugh4: :laugh3: Omg that's great!!! Tourist, I love For You! :nice: The first time I heard it I cried, it is so beautiful, and so bittersweet. I always think of a cloudy day or a snowy day when I listen to that song. Oh and last summer too, because that's when I first heard it. And that was a part of my life I'll never forget. I imagine it to be about a girl who lets go of her pass to move on in her life, and she's unsure of her decisions. But she realizes that she has to live life and noone can really hold her down. And Chris is singing from the perspective of a person close to her that doesn't want her to go, but knows she has to. Wow sorry for the schpeel. It's just a really special song for me. :)
September 1, 200718 yr wow, i think about the same thing about "for you"! execept that when i hear is, while i think its about the same thing, i picture chris sitting alone in a room, playing the piano and singing the song while it rains hard outside. one time i was listening to the song and could of sworn i heard a sound like rain against a window in the background, so thats why it makes me think of that.
September 1, 200718 yr i went shopping and they played Til Kindom Come in Peacocks. it made my day :) I'd never heard it in a shop before. the manager must be a Coldplay fan
September 12, 200718 yr theyve started to replay that oldish fruit of the loom commerical where they immitate the music videos for "the scientist" and "in my place" while the fruits play a song called "blue" which is "yellow"-esque. i LOVE that commercial!! and ive only just noticed that on the album of AROBTTH instrumentals i donwloaded from the multimedia section here several months ago, the composer of the songs are listed as "guy berryman/jonny buckland/will champion/MAX martin." who the hell is MAX MARTIN???
