February 2, 201214 yr :lol: It reminds me of this interview of Chris & Jonny I think.......You know, where they repeat themselves......
February 2, 201214 yr I highly disagree with this: http://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/lists/2011/10/10-best-coldplay-songs.html?p=2 i can understand a couple of those, but A Message?! And Charlie Brown?!?!?!?! :veryangry2: Those would be on my Top 10 list!

February 2, 201214 yr :nod::nod: Their opinion on A message & Charlie Brown shocked me the most I know! They didn't even give a reason why A Message was bad!
February 2, 201214 yr ^ And actually to me they seem to have more of a problem with Chris than with Coldplay!
February 2, 201214 yr They wanted to save Clocks for the next album. :surprised: Speed Of Sound IS the recycled Clocks. But I don't care, it's the first CP song I heard and I love it. :phu:

Sure, the riff is similar, but other than that they are very different songs. Anyway, the piano riff is only in a couple of places in SoS, and it's mainly guitar when they played it live anyway.
February 2, 201214 yr Actually, to me, Speed of Sound is the X&Y equivalent of Clocks. There's the riff, but most importantly, the amount of...imagery, if I can call it that way, is important in both songs. Though Speed of Sound's lyrics include even more imagery than Clocks, I think. Anyway I don't mind,Speed of Sound is still great :wacky:

I think if Speed of Sound had been released first then it would be the other way around and everyone would be hating on Clocks instead, while Speed of Sound would be the classic that's always played live. Either way, we get an awesome song so I don't care :D
February 2, 201214 yr Clocks reminded me of SoS from the first note I heard. The imagery the bitch is talking about (:P) is the synth that sounds like angels bestowing heavenly blessings upon us :surprised: is also the common characteristic of both songs. I hope they use more of it on LP6 a.k.a. SNOBAPOTAOPROAOTM. Or Brian Eno's synthesizers a la White Shadows. :surprised: You do know that he played synthesizers on X&Y? :D To me, the space X&Y sound is classic Coldplay.

But yeah, they definitely need to make full use of Eno while they still have him. LP6 will be the most enoxificated album yet! I'm thinking like MX but less pop and more U2-esque sounds. I'm sure you've already made this analogy, but LP6 could be their Joshua Tree
February 2, 201214 yr I'm positive about White Shadows, IDK about other songs... YES. :wacky: That would be awesome. The epic without the self-pity (as critics would say about X&Y). MX is cute. Like really cute. Like a puppy you wanna smother to death. :nice: :D But X&Y sounds really... Grand. Even VLV sounded less ambitious and more focused. I would love the spacelike X&Y sound back but with more optimistic themes...
February 2, 201214 yr Random Thoughts : When Coldplay go out to dinner, do you reckon they dive start in on the starters or save room for dessert?
February 2, 201214 yr ^ They definitely save room for cake  Wait, what did I write? I swear I was writing "dessert"! But I unconsciously wrote "cake"! :o :awesome:
February 3, 201214 yr Somebody needs to make an instrumental for Don't Let It Break Your Heart. It would be amazing!! :wacky:
February 3, 201214 yr My older brother just came in and said when Coldplay were in Dubai, his best friend saw them front row and Chris winked at him. Hahaha. I can't blame Chris, his friend is Guy pretty.

Here's the thread. http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91405 EDIT: All the info is in the first post.
February 3, 201214 yr When I had this idea, I was sat in a dark room, I’d split up with an ex, with all these doom and gloom feelings, and there’s Chris singing, “When you lose something you can’t replace, stuck in reverse”. That was certainly how I felt! And then “lights will guide you home” was the line I really hooked onto for the wristbands. OMG! I was just reading the Jason Regler interview from Coldplay's website while listening to Fix you, and the moment I read this part, the same lyrics came out :awesome::wideeyed: Almost brought tears to my eyes. But I'm at school, so :|
