February 7, 201214 yr Today I slipped and I tripped over a patch of ice while listening Yellow ... My mp4 is broken
February 7, 201214 yr Today I slipped and I tripped over a patch of ice while listening Yellow ... My mp4 is broken  That sucks... I feel terrified whenever I think something is even slightly wrong with my iPod :\ At least it didn't break while listening to Fix You, that would have been so ironic :P
February 7, 201214 yr Today I slipped and I tripped over a patch of ice while listening Yellow ... My mp4 is broken  Oh I'm sorry :( At least the last song you got to hear from it was Yellow :nice:

February 8, 201214 yr guys...long story short, we have an assignment in history. To choose a song that embodies some of our modern cultural values. I was thinking Major Minus or Charlie Brown. MM for believing our government can hide secrets etc. What does Charlie respresent? Being young and fooish? I have to write a half page response with the lyrics.
February 8, 201214 yr I think you could also choose Violet Hill ;) Some cultural images in that song are obvious. Good luck with your assignment!

February 8, 201214 yr Hmm... are ALL MX choruses lame? Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Cos you use your heart as a weapon and it hurts like heaven Para-para-paradise [nonexistent chorus / guitar riff is the chorus] or maybe - we'll run riot/wild, we'll be glowing in the dark And sing slooooooooooooooow it down Every tear, every tear, every teardrop is a waterfall Ooh ooh ooh, ooh ooh ooh oooh, got one eye on the road and one on you [no chorus] Oh ohohohoh, ohohohohoh, ohohohoh, oh Up in flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaames Don't let it break your heart [no chorus] I don't know if this is a bad or a good thing...
February 8, 201214 yr What do you mean 'they should be'? :P They're all kinda just one line. This is a 'proper' chorus: I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing Roman cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield Missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain Once you'd gone there was never Never an honest word And that was when I ruled the world

Hmm.. They are kind of cheesy.. But I do like most of them. But yeah, They are.. different.. Not like AAOBTTH's But time is on your side, it's on your side now Not pushing you down and all around It's no cause for concern
February 8, 201214 yr But the chorus of Clocks is basically "Yoooooouuuuuu aaaaaaaaaaare" repeated over and over... and what about songs like 42 and Death And All His Friends that have NO chorus... A song doesn't need a proper chorus to be a good song. It mainly needs to be catchy, which most of the MX choruses are.

February 8, 201214 yr Oh, I just remember I HAVE to tell you this guys  An hour ago my mom was driving me home, and on radio came CLOCKS :awesome: This was the first time that I'd heard it on radio (I hardly ever listen to radio). Sadly we got home like one minute before the end of the song :(

A song doesn't need a proper chorus to be a good song. It mainly needs to be catchy, which most of the MX choruses are. Well I agree. Long choruses, short choruses, no choruses, it's all good. I'm curious as to how will CB perform at the charts since it has no chorus. Yellow doesn't really have a chorus, and it's still brilliant. :) Umm... what about: Look at the stars Look how they shine for you... or Your skin Oh yeah, your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful...
February 8, 201214 yr Probably well, considering it's got a great musical hook, and even though VLV had a really complicated chorus, it did well. Fingers crossed.

February 9, 201214 yr Found out only a day ago that thanks to a mistake on the X&Y cover, the Baudot code that should say 'X&Y' actually says 'X96',lol. Whoops! Yeah, it's random but it made me chuckle.
