ugh, i miss a weekend on here to write a HUGE paper and i miss so much!

 

on friday my three best friends and i were talking about the upcoming superbowl (theyre all guys, so its like a freaking holiday for them) and i asked who was doing the halftime show. one of them went "COLDPLAY!!" i didnt believe him because i totally would have known about it if it was true and hes always making fun of me for liking coldplay even though he secretly loves their music too. so that spurred an intersting conversation about would coldplay ever play the superbowl? i personally dont think they would but jose (my friend) was like "no, theyre such sell-outs, i can totally see them doing it." he just likes to piss me off.

 

on friday night i saw shakespeare in love with gwyneth for the first time ever, and of course that made me think of chris the whole time, even if the movie is from way before she met him or coldplay even came out with parachutes.

 

watched extras on sunday! the sad part was that i'd already seen (and downloaded to my ipod) all the chris parts from that episode from google video. i figured there would be more chris in it than just the two first scenes, but i was wrong :sad: ah, well. its lovely seeing him anytime.

i hadnt seen the very end, where he does a duet on "fix you" with ricky gervais. i squealed when they cracked up at the end. and chris sang the song that played during the credits, but i dont know what the song was! i really liked it. anyone know what it was and if i can get a hold of it anywhere?

^I've always thought that too! When I was watching Prince performing last night, I wondered if Coldplay would ever perform for a halftime show??? Hmm...

So I was walking in my French class and my friend Marianne--who sits on the other side of the classroom--goes, "HEY! Jenika, guess what was on the radio in art class?! COLDPLAY!!" I played it off, :cool: but then she was like, "Haha, Gaby and Michelle (my other two friends) were joking you." I asked her what song it was but she didn't know.

my brother bought a pack of colored electrical tape today, with 5 colors in it, to tape up his lacrosse stick. im itching to put some on my fingers like chris, but know id be laughed off campus if i wore it to class. (not that anyone would catch on with the coldplay connection, but id just be the bughouse girl with rainbow fingers...) besides, its itchy. but still cool!

maybe ill do it and take a photo of it. yeah...

we are going to have dress up as a celebrity couple and me and my friend are going to dress up as chris and gwyneth:D

Well I was listening to God Put A Smile Upon Your Face on my iPod yesterday and I let my mom listen to it too. It was funny, us just sitting there bobbing our heads. Anyway she goes, "Oh I like this one. He sings kind of like rhythm and bluesish..." And I went, "They." meaning, Coldplay as in, plural! And she went, "But this is just Chris Martin, Right?" I was too excited to correct her- she knows his name now!!! YAY! :D

 

One down, three to go. :cool: lol.

 

And yesterday in school my friend was looking at my Coldplay pictures in my locker and went, "You need someone better in your locker." I went, "Better HOW?!" and she goes, "People who are actually good-looking!!"

FIRST OF ALL: She is blind! Coldplay are incredibly good-looking. :wink3: Second: Even if they weren't they'd still be splattered all over my locker because they're GREAT. Talent trumps good looks, period. :smug:

im going to do it someday, i really am. just not to school. i have to think of a place to wear it where i wont be mocked, because school is out of the question, and id feel like even more of a loser just wearing it around the house!

 

coldplay put me to sleep last night. ive had a really hard time sleeping lately (stressed out from school), so i just shoved my headphones on in frustration last night and i was asleep in 7 songs. i love them so much. ive only recently realized their great healing powers. they make me feel so much better!

 

my mom doesnt think coldplay are attractive either. i dont understand this at all. she called chris martin "a classic british trainwreck" once. WHAAAAT? i find chris INCREDIBLY lovely. whatever.

but my friends are all the same way! they like coldplay's music a lot, but dont think the guys are anything special, to look at or otherwise. of course the whole point of it all is the music, but i dont know, for me part of loving music so much is also getting to know the people who make the music from a one-sided perspective, and usually my love of the music translates into a love of the musicians. to each their own, but i still find chris and the boys incredibly attractive.

I totally agree. The boys are very attractive, I think.

 

Anyway, I heard Talk again in Painting class. It was great! :D And again, NO ONE complained or made fun of it. OH! And there's this boy in my class and my teacher asked a question and we all said yes and he was nodding his head but didn't stop. I think he was bobbing his head along to the song! :D

haha today in school, we were getting introduced into a new chaplain in our chapel this morning, and one of the ladies were kinda interviewing her infront of us. So this new Chaplain has two sons, the oldest is around the age of 11/12. Anyways this lady asked her what music she likes to listen to, and the chaplain said:

 

"Well i like my son's choice of music, he has a good taste. I really like Snow patrol and coldplay"

 

I said quite loudly "oh!" and i could see a few people were thinking about me, either looking at me or coming to me at break going "THEY MENTIONED COLDPLAY!"

 

I now like this new chaplain. :D

I was watching TV last night, and there was a commercial for the Grammys. And at the end of the commercial they showed a split second of Coldplay performing. I screamed all of a sudden and scared my little sister. :laugh3:

About the good looking band thing... my mom thinks Chris Martin is really hot. :freak: Personally I think Coldplay are very very very good looking. Maroon 5 are pretty cute too. Radiohead are ugly... Pink Floyd were EW!

I had a dream about Thom Yorke and Will last night. They were discussing Thom's son's disablilities (he had a lot of trouble with anger managment and concentration) on the myspace site of the German band Slut. I think Will wrote something about how he can totally relate to it and knows how Thom must feel. :laugh3:

well, i think my nuncle started to love Coldplay now. Because he ask me burn Parachute album for him. And he could sing along with some Yellow lyrics.:)

last night i was looking in an old rolling stone issue, the one with the 500 greatest albums of all time that was published in 2003. i was looking up radiohead because ive been thinking a lot about them recently, especially the bends and i wanted to see what it ranked.

ANYWAY, i finished looking that up, so i closed the magazine, but it opened to one random page towards the back. and youll never guess what page it opened to: A FULL-PAGE AD FOR COLDPLAY LIVE 2003!! i did a double-take. i couldnt believe ive never noticed it before! i guess the last time i actually READ that issue was back in 2003, two years before i got into coldplay. since then ive only referenced it and used the index to go to the pages i needed. it just made me so excited to find it, especially late at night, i thought the whole thing was cool and semi-hilarious.

 

was talking to my friend today and he brought up sigur ros. i said i wanted to check them out, and he mentioned they sing entirely in icelandic, which i didnt know. im still going to check them out and everything (mostly because chris likes them so much :lol:) but i dont know, lyrics are a big part of why i listen to music, and i may have a hard time connecting with them if i cant understand them.
