  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

OMG I forgot to tell you guys:

about an hour ago I was going through some Christmas eve dinner preparations with my parents & my sister, and we were listening to the radio, and this came out:

So I instantaneously thought about Chris and this video:

so I laughed, but my sister and my parents were like "that's a terrible song" and they were a bit uncomfortable, while I just couldn't stop smiling thinking about Chris

Not that song again.

I cannot not hear that song without laughing. :laugh3:

Not that song again.

I cannot not hear that song without laughing. :laugh3:

hahah same here :laugh3: :laugh3:

Okay, a tiny crush. Tiny.

I don't have a crush on him. Not at all.

I DO HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM  :wacky:

I keep hearing Christmas Lights everywhere now. So nice to have my favorite band be a part of my holiday traditions. :)

:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: When I saw the official video on tv for the first time, I laughed like an idiot (really!) :laugh3: The same happens whenever somebody mentions it :laugh3:

^ Well I'm glad I'm french, because here the word for "Christmas" is Noël, so I think I'll be okay

though we do say Christ....damn I'm screwed :|

In Italian it's Natale, but still... Somehow, while I was in the church, I thought about the word Chris-tmas and I smiled :D

BTW... Yesterday I slept at my friend's house because the weather was terrible and her mum wouldn't let go of me and my-other-friend-who-drives, and this morning we woke up and listened to Christmas songs... So of course I played Christmas Lights' video on Youtube :wacky: One of my friends knew and liked it, so she sang along a little bit as well, the other one didn't remember it and had never seen the video and was like -> :wideeyed:

A few days ago I'd showed her the amazing video of the band playing at XFactor, she didn't even know Charlie Brown, and had had this reaction instead:

:shocked2:

:wideeyed:

:drunk:

:dazzled:

^:awesome: Spread the love my friend, spread the love :awesome:

And at the church they didn't say "Christ" a lot but still I couldn't help thinking about him  Actually during one of the priest's speeches, I had a weird Coldplay awake-dream...I pictured Chris spending Christmas at my home, with me and my family, and how it was awkward to bring him at the church, and how confused he was, but he was still very nice and everything...

This fangirl thing is turning pretty bad, isn't it ? :|

Yes, yes, I will :awesome:

:laugh3: That reminds me... During the priest's speech, I totally let my imagination run very fast... And imagined that Chris was somehow in that church a few meters on the right from me, with a big hat and sunglasses (in a church :laugh3:) to be well in disguise, so that none would recognize him... But me, of course :awesome: So at the end of the mass I would be going towards him and shyly ask him what he was doing there and thank him for everything he and the others do, tell him that "I love your music and you guys" would be just an ordinary sentence and far from describing how they make me and all of us feel... And I would say that meeting him there would be the best Christmas present ever... And I would ask for a photo with him and an autograph, and give him my mobile number in case he feels/gets lost in the "unknown country"

No, no pervy thoughts. Simply because I think Chris only belongs to Jonny. :jbcm:

:P

... So maybe the fangirl thing is turning very bad, but I really can't tell you, and you wouldn't be alone anyway

My sister is in my bedroom, and she wants me to put some music, so OF COURSE, I put MX.

When HLH began, after 30 seconds she said: "it's awful"

:|

:o

:phu: My sister sucks :phu:

What is the story behind the The Hardest Part video?

Does it have an underlying story (besides the obvious - wow, old ladies can be cool), because it basically sucks big time. :D

And out of all other songs from X&Y that don't have videos, why did they choose this one...

I was wondering the same.

I can't watch those two things dance for more than 30 seconds :|

^^Well, yes I see it too, but still... It doesn't fit the epicness they were going for with that album. :D

^ It does have that WTF?! factor to it. :D

^^^^"The music video for "The Hardest Part" was shot on 3 March 2006 in St. Petersburg, Florida at a yacht marina. The video is similar to Weezer's video for Buddy Holly, in that uses a clip from a short-lived 80s program "Attitudes" on the Lifetime network, and has the band digitally inserted. The band essentially plays beside a stage where an 84-year-old lady and her 25-year-old male friend put up an incredible act of athleticism, despite her age. Actress Linda Dano, who played "Felicia Gallant" on the soap opera Another World, is also featured via the Attitudes footage. The video was directed by Mary Wigmore. Another version of the video features a cameo from Chris Martin's father, Anthony Martin, but was never broadcast. It premiered on Wednesday, 22 March at 11:05 p.m. on Channel 4 in the UK."

That's what wikicoldplay says. :P But yeah..I think I saw somewhere too that the old lady died even before this video was put together.

Edit: This still doesn't explain how it pertains to the song though. :P

:( I love that video, I think it shows courage. It has pretty much nothing to do with the song, but still, she was a brave and talented woman :|

Maybe here the hardest part is to let go her youth ?

Still a weird choice, I gotta admit. Well if Weezer had already done something like that, it might be some sort of hommage or something

Thanx iduran, haven't seen that video in a long time. Will have to check it out to remember it again. :nice:

I hate almost all Weezer videos (except Island in the Sun, Pork And Beans and Troublemaker) :|

BTW I really hope they won't deo another video like that

I love it too. :)

That could be what the video means. Maybe the Oracle knows, but who knows if she'd answer. :P

Even if the video fits the song and it has this nice message, I still never would have chosen that song to be a single, let alone make a video for it.

But, whatever, I don't mind it existing. :D It's a shame though that White Shadows and Square One don't have videos...

Yeah, White Shadows would have been a better choice

googled it :awesome:

I just realized Major Minus is WAY better live than studio. After listening to so many live versions of the song, I actually have trouble listening to the studio version. :| (WTF did they do to Chris' voice on the studio version ? Didn't need that :\ )
