I really love him and Jon Stewart, they make everything just seem so much better, funnier, and in all the years I've been watching the Daily Show and now the Colbert Report I hear a totally equal portrayal of both parties.

Oh man, yes. I just saw it today.... That man is hilarious, and I love the Jim Carrey face he pulled with the "LALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU" thing. Too priceless...

bush is being greatly despised around finland. i just hate his fucking face and think he's bloody annoying, and maybe don't agree with many of his actions but seriously some of the shit that's been poured on his shoulders has been just a question of bad luck. everyone makes mistakes, even nation leaders. but it's funny how hating bush is in fashion. anyway, i think you guys have had more worse presidents than him though.

 

i strongly disagree with all this ' you have to be wise to be a president ' shit though. to succeed in life - or rather in this case have the access to high class careers, as in leading positions etc etc whatever -, all you need is in a nutshell; money, good contacts, and the ability to be a good talker. a good talker in itself includes many different sorts of features but it doesn't mean you are automatically wise. and there's a big difference between being SMART and being WISE.

The very fact so many think bush is the worst president shows, the inablilty for people to distance themselves and view his presidency on a grand level. yes he may be doing a bad job in your eyes, but its foolish and just plain ignorant to say that he is the worst president while he's in office, not to mention the reason you find him to be the worst president are things that other presidents have done on a larger scale. Lying, wars. hell we've had many president tell bigger lies, start bigger wars and cost tens of thousands more american lives then bush has...it seams a little biased to think he is the worst.

what if the tables were turned.... and the polls showed different. (and I'm talking about gallup polls here..)If they ere in his favor.... ?? Then your tune would change wouldn't it.

 

 

Condi seems to know the truth.. if you saw her on the Today show this morning... you can see it in her eyes.. she said it all without saying a word.

 

Thank goodness his term is almost over. No matter who takes office next.... they have one hell of a job to finish.

I saw her, Camille, interesting you mention that. I was impressed by her, definately. Very, VERY impressed. She definately knows what she's talking about, and she's incredibly smart. My only problem with her (and the reason I would never vote for her if she ran for President) is that she's too much of a "yes sir" person. I respect her devotion to the administration, but... If she's going to run herself, she's going to have to start stepping out AS herself and not just continue to be the go to girl for yes answers. You know what I mean?

I have to say when I voted my vote had nothing to do with the war in Iraq. It had to do with other issues that I personally think are more important.

you can't say he's the worst. You definitely can't say he's the best. But right now he has proposed a bill to the senate to help fight AIDS in Africa that not many senators seem to be supporting. I also agree with him on other issues that Kerry and Gore don't support. Even though I agree more with their foreign policies on war I don't think the war in Iraq was as important as those issues.

The next day, I met a widow who had become self-sufficient thanks to a micro-finance loan. With her new financial freedom, she was not only able to take care of her children, but also began caring for local orphans.

 

The biggest lesson I took home from the trip was that folks in these countries can turn things around if given the basic resources that we take for granted here every day. That's why I was shocked to learn from the ONE campaign that within the next 2 weeks the U.S. Senate is poised to slash billions of dollars from President Bush's plan to fight AIDS and poverty.

I read about that (someone posted it in the CCC section), I had no idea the Senate was so strongly opposed to the plan. It's one of the few things that I'm proud of our president about. AIDS and the humanitarian crisis' in Africa and other third world countries cannot be political issues. Sadly, they are. And because of the war between the left and right, the real purpose is lost. I blame our Senate and Congress for that.
