look at the good the movie has brought, never thought i'd see the day : Christians and Muslims together

"Roman Catholics in the Indian city of Mumbai (Bombay) have received Muslim support in protests against the release of the movie, The Da Vinci Code. "

"why good?

i pity the faith people have in themselfs if one movie could change it or provoke it.."

well put ;)

"Does this allow athiests to kill people who preach the Bible, if they believe it's all lies?

Why don't people go burn houses in DC or blow things up if this Administration made lies about certain things?"

LOL ...if they protested as much about political issues perhaps the world would not be in as much a mess.

I know, right? :P

People who think like this scare me. They reaaaaaaaally scare me.

Violence is never the answer.

yeah its scary alright!

especially when violence is used by those who say they follow the words of Jesus.

(abortion clinic bombings)

i know alot of Christians who go to church every sunday and yet they can be about face when it comes to the teachings--and they go off on racial rants about certian ethnic groups.

There's hypocrisy everywhere......................................

^So has anyone proved there aren't gods of the trees, moon, sun, Earth, etc.?

People believed in that way before any of the "modern" religions came along.

I don't recall any of this having been "disproved" before Islam, Christianity etc. moved in!!:dozey:

I didn't get you:thinking:

Always Christians and Muslims together

He's saying that there's no one religion that is proven to be true, indeed NONE of them are. They're all about faith. So who's to say I can't think Bono is my personal Jesus and worship HIM, base a religion around THAT?

What about Scientology? That's not religion, but people say it is. They have churches and everything. It's based off a frickin' SCIENCE FICTION NOVEL, for CHRIST'S sake!!!! Who told these people that's true? Absolutely no one. But people still invest their lives and money into it. Just like people do with Christianity.

Same with Wiccans, or Pagans.

I have a saying, "They can't all be right, but they can't all be wrong". I don't believe in one religion, because no one religion is the true one. But I think that if you combined them all you could find something that has a basis in truth...

There's no point to blabbing about how people make up "lies" about religion, burning things because of it, freaking out in general. People who believe in the major religions think they're so entitled to this, but why? If no one can prove that the bible is the truth, and that it happened.... If no one has actual PHOTOGRAPHS of Jesus rising from the dead, then it's just hear-say anyways. But if you believe it and have faith in it, then ok. I respect that.

Just keep your entitlement out of my life. And if the Pope wants to commit me to hell because I go see a FUCKING MOVIE, then I'll see him there.

Those religions are more similar than a lot of people realise though, it makes sense that they should be brought together.

My respect to you,but I think you didn't know the relegions enough

I don't know why everyone have a permission to insult any relegion even he tell a lies or haven't any documents under the name of freedom of speech

But if he insult or deny the Holocaust even he make researches and have a documents ''' He jail '''

holocaust has 800,000 proofs.

religion has none, it's based on pure story and it's up to you wheater you belive it or not.

oh and holocaust is no where near the thing we're talking about.

Danielle dear calm..it's no worth it.;)

I know. It just pisses me off, that's all. Religion has basically traumatized me, in my life. I had a nun tell me when I was 8 years old that I was going to hell because I didn't go to church every Sunday. Ever since then I've been staunchly anti-organized religion. I tend to yap too much about it though!:laugh3:

Respect to you as well, but you don't know anything about me. I don't think you should pass judgement that easily. Saying I don't know "enough about religions"? I doubt you can decide that about me from one post. ;)

I don't really understand what you were trying to say with your second point, but was it something like how people are entitled to insult religion without facts to support their points, because of freedom of speech? Well, because... it's freedom of speech? And I feel like I have a valid point, IN MY OPINION. I really don't get where your train of thought is coming from, it disturbs me that someone thinks violence and uproar is a good response to "lies". I don't want to reitterate myself, so I wont. But really, what the hell?

And the Holocaust has nothing to do with this. Who's denying the Holocaust? And what the hell, where are the facts that it didn't happen???? People who believe that are insane, really. I think I see the point you're trying to make though, that someone denied the Holocaust and wen't to jail. But someone made up a story about Jesus and didn't? I don't know, but I think anyone who thinks the Holocaust didn't happen.... *keeps comment to self*

I hate these kind of things. It gives religious people a bad name (myself included).

The same thing happened when The Last Temptation of Christ was released, and now many Catholics support it as an interesting thought experiment.

Respect to you as well, but you don't know anything about me. I don't think you should pass judgement that easily. Saying I don't know "enough about religions"? I doubt you can decide that about me from one post. ;)

totally...i even think that was unapropriate to speak about holocaust as a *maybe* thing.

India extends Da Vinci Code ban

The government of the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh has banned the release of the Hollywood film The Da Vinci Code.

"The release of the movie could have led to demonstrations and trouble," said Andhra Pradesh's special chief secretary, Paul Bhuyan.

Andhra Pradesh is the seventh Indian state to have banned the screening of the film, which was released in May.

The movie, which portrays Jesus as married, is based on Dan Brown's book.

Christians only make up one percent of Andhra Pradesh's 80 million people.

Pleased

"The minority organisations have pointed out that the film's storyline attacked the very heart of the Holy Gospel, destroying the divinity of Jesus Christ," said Mr Bhuyan.

Roman Catholic Bishop Marampudi Joji, based in Andhra Pradesh's capital Hyderabad, welcomed the ban.

"We appreciate the decision and we are grateful to the state government," he said.

Other Indian states which have banned the film include Nagaland, Punjab, Goa and Tamil Nadu.

The movie opened in India to a mixed reception at the end of May.

Well I heard the movie isn't a patch on the book anyway' date=' so they're probably better off![/quote']

The novel is far superior, I found the film quite boring to tell you the truth.

Roman Catholics in the Indian city of Mumbai (Bombay) have received Muslim support in protests against the release of the movie, The Da Vinci Code.

"The Holy Koran recognises Jesus as a prophet. What the book says is an insult to both Christians and Muslims," Maulana Mansoor Ali Khan, general secretary of the All-India Sunni Jamiyat-ul-Ulema, told the Reuters news agency.

"Muslims in India will help their Christian brothers protest this attack on our common religious belief," he said.
