June 11, 200620 yr As long as there is unemployment, the government will never be doing enough. And I still don't get what the hell this has to do with gay marriage. What the eff?
June 11, 200620 yr Someone argued that gay marriage shouldn't be the main issue, unemployment/economy should.
June 11, 200620 yr Someone argued that gay marriage shouldn't be the main issue' date=' unemployment/economy should.[/quote'] That's one of the best things I read in this thread....
June 11, 200620 yr Ah, I see now! I was just completely confused as to how we got to this conversation, but now I see. And I completely agree with that. Gay marriage shouldn't even be an ISSUE. But we all know that it really isn't, it's just something the pompous asses on the hill are using to stand on.
June 11, 200620 yr So' date=' I guess we ought not upset the Status Quo then??? I've been homeless and hungry and allthough it's easier in North America, hungrer IS hunger no matter your domographic...just because it's less broken than other countries doesn't mean it doesn't need fixing.[/quote'] We should fix it but people dont understand it will never be completely fixed. i never said not to try to fix it. not to mention there arent many americans actually going hungry. and those who do should be fed.
June 11, 200620 yr :shocked2: Come visit Philadelphia or Reading one day and maybe you'll realize that what the politicians and statistics say aren't true. And maybe if our minimum wage was raised, we wouldn't have families living below the poverty line. I think instead of accepting something, you should do something about it. Not just sit back and think that because it happens, it should be happening. Ive been there. if our minimum wage was raised theres a good chance it wouldnt help out. prices of goods would go up to compensate for the raise. I NEVER said to sit back and let it happen.

I NEVER said to sit back and let it happen. Yea, but where'd you go, center city? Go to west philly or even camden. raising minimum wage would help more then you think. the way you worded your post a while back, you said that there will always be unemployment, blah blah something I foget. But it made it seem like you didn't really care about it and something shouldn't be done. :\ Now back to studying for finals....

But there will always be unemployment, that is a fact of life, like their will always be violence or hatred or war or death. and american poor have it better then almost any other poor person in the world. our poor are lucky to be poor in america. not that anyone is lucky to be poor, but out of most countries they are lucky to be in american and be poor. the point im saying is people dont understand most poor in america dont have it as bad as most of the people of this world.
June 16, 200620 yr It's allowed where I live... and I think that's a good thing, we're all people after all... I think you can even marry your cat here
