I hope he won't make it, I just hate him since he went away from Inter for a bunch of money after all they've done for him (including all the medical treatments when he got injured, and the supporters always beside him), he's just a betrayer who only cares about money and doesn't deserve anything more than what he had so far :dozey:

After the Italy-US draw, many pals of mine thought Italy's possibility of advancing into the KO round is faint. But last night's victory over Czech shuts all their mouths!

But i really feel sorry for the Czech side, especially for Nedved, they've been doing really beautifully! The truth is always cruel!

thats the thing, nobody is above the money. If you were offered a job that paid you MUCH more money for your efforts when you had to do the EXACT same thing, you would take it wouldnt you? There is not a "noble" athlete who doesnt like making money. He is winding down now, and will only be with it for a few more years. The name of the game, now, is to make as much as possible before he retires. it is the same with every sport and every player

^ not at all...soccer it's all about the money now, but not every sport is like this (I give you just an example: volleyball)...and I don't think the money you're paid to play football is fairly comparable with any other job, as players are usuallly paid a lot and I don't see the necessity of earning billions and billions, it's unfair for those who really "work"

I am talking about any really popular sport, american football= millions per year, baseball=millions per year, hockey=used to be millions, now only the really good guys get millions, soccer=millions per year. See thats just the nature of the beast. Their job just happens to be football. I dont like how much they get paid(i think it is exorbitant and unneccessary) but thats just how it is, they DO in fact get paid alot, and thats just how its always going to be with popular sports.

 

i do see what you mean about really "working" versus being paid 120million for 5 years of football. But it seems like your quarrel is more with the amount being paid for everyone, rather than just Ronaldo....all the big name football players are being paid handsomely
