July 15, 200619 yr Chris Martin has revealed that he likes to travel to his own gigs by public transport. The Coldplay singer admits that the experience puts him in a "bad mood" and believes that this encourages him to put on a better show for fans. "I try getting to shows at the same time as everyone else," he told The Mirror. "I've been stuck in traffic, I've been on an overcrowded train and I've lined up to buy an overpriced hot dog. Quite often this will put me in a bad mood. So I know just what it's like for everyone else who is paying. "It makes me more determined to get on-stage and really deliver a show that makes it all worthwhile for everyone." http://www.digitalspy.co.uk
July 15, 200619 yr Author IF COLDPLAY are late for a concert it could be because frontman Chris Martin is stuck on a bus! The Fair Trade campaigner, snapped here on tour in Hong Kong, likes to get to gigs by public transport. And he admits it puts him in such a bad mood he wants to put on a great show. Chris, 29, says: "I try getting to shows at the same time as ever yone else. I've been stuck in traffic, I've been on an over-crowded train and I've lined up to buy an overpriced hot-dog. Quite often this will put me in a bad mood. So I know just what it's like for ever yone else who is paying. "It makes me more determined to get on-stage and really deliver a show that makes it all worthwhile for ever yone." Hurrah! But we know the real reason judging by the state of your mitts Chris: it's a great chance for a bit of a doodle and to play with the sticky tape. FAIRPLAY: The "Equals" sign on Chris's and is a symbol for the Fair Trade campaign, not a doodle of two buses! http://www.mirror.co.uk
July 15, 200619 yr i just can't believe i've read this trash. what is the point of this article? he shouldn't give interviews to the british newspapers
July 15, 200619 yr Yea... Chris was saying something like that at the concert in LA... "You know I don't normally... we're probably the only band in the world that cares about your traffic situation, but, I kinda arrived late, and it never struck me before how much time you people give up to go to a concert..." Not worth publishing in a mag, though, haha.
July 15, 200619 yr That was basically the same as what he said on the Denton show.. wonder if he really told the mirror  :\
July 15, 200619 yr hold on a minute- queuing up for a hot dog...- i thought he was vegetarian?! haha,... thats actually a good point.
July 15, 200619 yr Coldplay singer Chris Martin lives the life of a poor fan so his resulting bad mood inspires an even better performance. The husband of Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow claims he often travels to gigs on public transport and queues up for “over-priced hot-dogs” (hang on – isn’t he supposed to be a veggie?) to keep in touch with the plebs on the street. It is this slum-life that keeps the righteous frontman’s performances razor-sharp... apparently. He tells the Daily Mirror, “I try getting to shows at the same time as everyone else. I've been stuck in traffic, I've been on an over-crowded train and I've lined up to buy an overpriced hot-dog. Quite often this will put me in a bad mood. So I know just what it's like for everyone else who is paying. July 15, 200619 yr hold on a minute- queuing up for a hot dog...- i thought he was vegetarian?! yes, thats my question!!!!!!! hmmm...though even i fall prey to hot dogs, i figured chris wouldnt.
July 15, 200619 yr Mental note: Go on public transport to next Coldplay gig...when it comes! :P Agree...I'll stock him...:curtain:
July 15, 200619 yr But the public transport in Hong Kong is brilliant. I like taking the trains and buses there.
July 16, 200619 yr hold on a minute- queuing up for a hot dog...- i thought he was vegetarian?! veggie-dog?
July 16, 200619 yr Chris wasn't always a Veg...and he's admitted to 'cheating' from time to time...squid etc...lol!
July 16, 200619 yr I remember in that conference they had with Rolling Stone...one of the guys said he was at a party and saw Chris eating fish. lol He said he'd stopped since then. But you know...haha
July 16, 200619 yr Exactly...it was in Japan, and Chris had to stop eating squid as it was bad for his...er...performance...and I don't mean on stage...Lol!
July 16, 200619 yr What.. but Chris didn't say this to the Mirror. He said that on one of the Aussie interviews, the Merrick and Rosso one I believe. Only the tabloid added a lot more to his original comments. Seriously, those liers they call journalists at the Mirror should be given a one fingered salute..
July 16, 200619 yr Yessum! Posted in the MM section  heres that interview on nova with merrick and rosso. http://rapidshare.de/files/24820757/interview_with_chris.mp3.html Thanks to Stuart!
July 16, 200619 yr hold on a minute- queuing up for a hot dog...- i thought he was vegetarian?! Remember 'Fausages'? ;) :laugh3:
July 17, 200619 yr I am so thankful that Coldplay (or just Chris, perhaps) were late to the concert I attended back in February! I was stuck in traffic for three hours and upon taking the stage, Chris joked, "the things you'll go through to get to a concert!" and that he was stuck as well.
