I think almost all of them are 21, don't know about Pete though as he's not officially a member of the band, but yeah, Luke turned 21 this summer.

So it says on their diary, I don't remember if it was Hugh's post or Luke himself that said they were out celebrating his 21st birthday. I think it might have been in Spain, can't recall now, but they sure were on tour. And according to Wikipedia, he was born in 1985 so yeah, that confirms his 21 years old.

So, it turns out they didn't win that Q award they were nominated for after all. Corinne Bailey Rae won it (yes, what? My bets were on Arctic Monkeys but...).

I, personally, have never been one for that whole "suffering artist" bullshit. Honestly, I don't care if someone's had a well off past or a troublesome one. Obviously one makes a more "interesting" story to read, but if the music's shite then who cares anyways? But if it's brilliant and the person's just had a normal childhood... well, whatever! It doesn't make someone a prat just cuz they come from a well to do school. Whoop de do. The music's still amazing.

Its true, so true. You dont need to come from a broken family, have lived on the streets and been involved with drugs to be a decent musician. Sometimes if you are or were that just makes up more headlines when you do actually mess up. I guess people just really love the whole broken-artist stereotype.

I guess it all comes with it's pros and cons. Fans'll always hvae that whole arrogance around them when it comes to an artist like Doherty, because he's got that whole down to earth aura about him. But then the tabloids feed off of this and see how that's negatively affected him...

 

 

And with Luke and the lot people'll always be attacked for liking them cuz they're like.... I dunno... people just come across to me as thinking they're shite cuz they're some boy band pop music or summit. which is TOTALLY not true. fuck that. But the positive is that headlines like that don't come about as much, if at all.

There's no need to look back at their past cause it's makes no difference at all. If the music's bad, then it'll still be whether they had a horrible chidlhood or the best of. So, we're music focused fans (ok, except when the fangirl-versions of us come across :rolleyes:)

I was pleased to attend the show. The band was a lot more down-to-earth than I expected. They signed all my seven-inch singles and my vinyl with no problem. In fact they even went out of their way to converse to each of the fans for as long as we wished. I was surprised to see only about forty people at this signing, but happy for this fact. The band members were funny, especially Paul, it looked as if they genuinely appreciated the time spent with his cult following.

 

Out of curiosity, I happened to notice that so many “die hard fans” were having Pete (the stand-in) ruin their LP’s by having it sign. I mean, why go out of your way to have the band sign your LP to then have some fill-in sign. LOL.

 

Again, the paranoid me thinks that if Pete was in the signing maybe he's not just a fill-in :\ Anyway, if Max is out of the band, I don't Pete will stay there as he has his own band so...
