August 9, 200619 yr I make a lot of threads about bands (mainly Australian) that noone cares about and I doubt this will be any different, but 'tis worth a shot. If I had to define Powderfinger I would say: Alternative music with some Australian rock thrown in. Now they are not the easiest band to find music from on the net but I'll try. Amazon Sound Samples. Listen to "Passenger" (best song IMO) and "The Day You Come" Fan Myspace Australian Music Online Official Myspace (only one song, but it is a good one at that.) You may heard some of Bernard Fanning's (lead singer) new solo work, it is awesome too, but it is a bit more on the country side. Please check them out, you won't be disappointed.
August 9, 200619 yr I love Powderfinger too. Their most recent album Vulture Street (I think thats their most recent ) wasn't that great but their older ones like Odyssey Number Five and Double Allergic were great. I also like his solo work. Besides Brit Rock, Aussie Rock is by far the best in my opinion!
August 9, 200619 yr Damn straight! AUSSIE LOVE all the way!! Powderfinger kick arse. As do Silverchair. And the John Butler Trio. <3 :)
August 12, 200619 yr i love that song where the kid losses his toy. And another old one don't know the name video clip is orange red (?) but really got into them cause bought vulture street, seems like their older stuff is even better so def must check it out. i really like Bernard's solo work, seems like lead singers from bands are trying their hand at solo work. Daniel from silverchair, That guy from Jebadiah.
August 12, 200619 yr Yeah I dig them..:D Oh and Sam..most threads about bands seem to die off..with the exception of maybe U2..Interpol,Radiohead and Muse..
August 12, 200619 yr Author I would have to say Vulture Street is there weakest, but I don't have all their albums yet, so I can't really judge.
May 5, 200719 yr New album coming out June 2nd! I saw an advertisement for it yesterday and I don't really know what to expect. I think it will be better than Vulture Street... hopefully anyway.
May 8, 200719 yr memories are fading a single voice complaining conscience is relapsing on TDYC It's a travesty how the song The Day You Come didn't get them more worldwide recognition x&y fame. I mean if ever a song came close to John Lennon's Imagine or Joan Osborne's One Of Us, that was The Song.
