These are lyrics for a song that I have yet to record properly.

If I were ever to make an album, this would be the closer - its probably the most atmospheric song I've ever done in all my 8 months of trying to make music.

 

Its called "The Edge" but the name might change in time.

I had a little boogy last night and quite liked what I came up with so decided to post to MySpace. Not perfect and not very long at all. Sorry for the few mistakes - not figured out how to keep my composure whilst hands are excessively sweating. Anyone that wants to add drums, bass and guitar and vocals for me get in touch lol. Don't worry if you think it's crap, I'm still learning and any piano experts out there would be appalled at my technique.

Dude, I really like it. All three tracks are ideas that you could definitely expand on, my favourite is the third one, since thats the sort of sound i'm going for at the moment. You're definitely not crap,you're better than me anyway. Anyway, I like the melodies you've got going there, and its definitely my kind of music ;)

When I get back to uni I'm hoping to finish up on 2 or three tracks (because thats where I've left my keyboard for now) but this is an instrumental of one of the tracks I'm working on:

Its long (7 mins) but my favourite part of the song starts at , if you find the first bit boring. Its also not perfect quality, theres distortion and clicks near the end, and of course my piano playing skills are no where near good.

I got the sound for the last one by turning the reverb right up and holding my foot down on the sustain pedal. I'm hoping to get some guitar effects and amps for my piano, since the thought of learning the actual guitar is far too scary to contemplate, so I'll cheat instead.

Nice one! And no worries about the cheating, because I do that too :P There's a short song i did a few weeks back in which i made piano riffs sound like electric guitars by distorting them. There's a bit of strumming going on in the background, but thats pretty basic stuff:

Just add the right amounts of reverb and distortion and it sounds pretty good.

I just listened to your Anchored Demo, I really like it a lot. What software did you use to put it together?

Thanks, glad you liked it. I used Adobe Audition CS3, but really, what you hear is what was recorded on the keyboard itself. I'll be mixing it properly when i get back to uni hopefully.

I have a series on YouTube called Tom's Tune Time. It's just me playing my acoustic guitar. So far, I have 11 videos, 6 covers (including Green Eyes), and 5 originals.

 

And I'm forming a band with a friend of mine...we're calling ourselves Metatron after an amazing song by The Mars Volta...so I'm sure we'll wind up recording those originals in the near future.

These are no crap. They're very nice though. I agree with Zemy101, you can really make something out of this. I like the first track by the way.
