Itunes 7.0 Problems

Featured Replies

I just downloaded Itunes 7.0 and cant seem to watch any video podcasts and videos i got off this site. its shows up as a green screen but i hear audio. any solutions ??

I'm officially an enemy of Apple after this new iTunes 7.0 junk! :veryangry: :veryangry: :veryangry:

Not only is v.7 super buggy, but the 1.2 iPod firmware doesn't install itself properly onto the iPod. Apple really takes the cake with this one. It seems almost everyone is having huge problems with iTunes and iPods with these new releases. Just go check out the Apple.com msg boards (maybe others have the same video issue?). But be warned, it's total chaos over there.

Good luck trying to solve the problem. I'm trying to troubleshoot this thing at the moment too. (My 5G iPod seems to be a $350 piece of junk at the moment...can't get it to sync with iTunes anymore :bigcry:)

man the forums are buzzing with problems... and we cant really downgrade to the old version cause it updates the music. this is killing me.

Yay! I've got it to work again. I forgot the most important thing of all........if all else fails, restart your computer! :P

Should have followed Apple's 5 Rs from the beginning: Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore

Hopefully you can get iTunes working smoothly again!

I'm about to upgrade but now I'm scared, should I do it?

You idiots!!!

Is getting the latest verison of iTunes really needed?

Does it offer anything which itunes 6 doesn't which you will use?

I'm keeping itunes 6 until the 3rd verison of itunes 7 so all the bugs have been ironed out :smug:

well I was about the say this... but not so vulgar!! :laugh3: :P Yeah.. a mod on the iPod Garage forum once told me you should wait til' at least v.2 or v.3 of a new version becomes available... because by then the bugs have been worked out.... so yeah... what Dave said! :P

They release I don't know how many new versions of iTunes a year...I'm not able to install the latest version and the next week here it comes another one, so I decided not to download the new one for a veeery long period to come (and considering what you wrote it seems the right choice)

does anybody know when V.2 should be coming out ? next week ?

I would guess 7.0.0.1 will be out soon to replace 7.0.0.0.

The reason videos probably wont work is because Quicktime has to be updated as soon as you install iTunes 7.

or if you have problems... do what i do...

each time they release a new itunes i save the install file, so that if the new ones are buggy, i can go back to the older version.

EDIT: if anyone needs the install file for the old 6 itunes pm me and i'll email it to you.

Apple fixes iTunes 7

September 28, 2006

Quentin Reade

itunes Apple has released an updated version of iTunes 7 after several serious problems were reported with the software.

Many people who installed iTunes 7 after it was launched a fortnight ago found the media player jerky, unable to recognise their iPod when it was plugged in, and that it had problems importing CD album art and displaying the new 'cover flow' view that lets you flick through your CDs onscreen.

Apple's website said the new version, iTunes 7.0.1, “addresses stability and performance issues with Cover Flow, CD importing, iPod syncing, and more.”

The updated version can be downloaded from the Apple website.
