Honestly this is such a great idea.....this is one of the things this board needs...

and I so much would like to contribute because it's a thing I like doing....I wrote maybe some reviews in my life......and it took me a long time....but I like it...

and for that reason I unfortunately have to say that I can't contribute....there are only 2 months left until my a-level exams......and in the last weeks I had to study a lot...and I'll have to study a lot.......so I'm sorry....

but what I can say is that many people should be aware of this....like Nik said it could be "mega"----

so I'm waiting for nice, serious and helpful reviews guys.....I'm "standing behind you" (don't know a proper expression for that in english...haha...)

thumbs up for this idea

^ awwww, i was hoping for you Jules :(

but it's fine. prepare for the exams, they are by far more important than anything else ;)

i was thinkig of some people who are here every day and would contribute, probably: Julia, Lera, Mo (burningmonk), Dave S, Erin, putainfromage, Danielle (an_cat), Tracie (TracieMorgan), Therese (_therese) etc.

great idea!!!

I'd love to help... don't really know how though... open to suggestions!!! :smug:

great!

you basicly would need to review an album. just describe it in 10-12 sentences or stuff like that, why it's good or why it's bad, worth a listen or not worth etc...

i think we could review 2 albums every day (one of the newest ones, and one of classics). the reviewers would be always different (just to spare some time)

if we'll get 10 people, you'd have 1 review/week

if we'll get 5-6, then probably 2 in a week

oh, I get it!!!

then we would evaluate it and would calculate an average evaluation?

I doubt we could get 2 reviews per day, but we could try.

The main thing I want to happen with this little 'project' is to build up a large collection of proffesional-type reviews. That would be awesome.

I understand... like different opinions about the same album, from different points of view...

for instance, any huge Radiohead fan wouldn't criticise their albums, but someone "neutral" would...

(just an example)

well, IMO, there would be a main, long, full review and other contributors would only post some notes on this album in 1-2 sentence with a rank.

well, at the end we'd get an average of the ranks and post it.

the main idea, imo, is that coldplaying could become a source for people if they are searcing for new music ;)

One question:

Do I need to have one day every week?

I mean sometimes there are weeks I have to study a lot and stuff and sometimes not....so if I have time....in those weeks...I would like to help...is this possible?

Well, I'm starting to doubt the 'timetable' idea already. I think it should probably be a bit more informal.

So, yes, you'd be able to do that.

One question:

well, i don't think it's necessary.

i was thinking that "the job" of a reviewer would be:

- write 1 max. 2 reviews per week (10-15 minutes maximum)

- listen to 4-5 full new albums at least once (4-5 hours) + to a classic if the reviewer hasn't heard that album yet (+ 4-5 hours)

so it means this would take you max. 8-10 hours in a week. but actually probably even less
