I toured New Zealand in May 2000 with a friend. We both brought tapes to play in the car. He brought Parachutes.

i think that the common thing between all coldpaly fans is that it was love at first sight' date='some kind of magic!!![/quote']

Too True! My dad put on X&Y the stereo and I was hooked! About a month later I heard Clocks an a friends mp3 player, and went straight to HMV and brought AROBTTH. Since then I've been hooked on Coldplay, theres not a day gone past which I havent listened to a single Coldplay song!

Wow, New Zealand and discovering Coldplay. Must of been a brilliant holiday!

I think the first time i heard Coldplay was while watching the TV .. I suddenly stopped at Much Music, and there was a song video, and I realised I knew it from somewhere else already ... it sounded so familiar ...... anyway, this song was Clocks

Gee... yellow was in the fashion show of Missoni on TV

Speed of Sound was the first Coldplay song what i heard on Radio 6 (a french radio station).

hum..

when watching the google-box

I came across the song

IN MY PLACE

then I searched some advices

about this group

in internet

and became Coldplay's

sincere fan..;)

in my car

I was in my car when i heard "Clocks" on the radio, which is now one of my favorites songs. Ever since, i wanted to know other songs from this group.:)

I think "Clocks" might have been the first song I remember... I've watched it on TV several times.

Oh, I know...

It must have been around...

Before the summer holidays in 2003.

Because I watched God Put A Smile Upon Your Face on TV during the summer holidays.

And... When was Clocks out?

i was still in school, and i saw yello's video and i liked the video but not the song at the first time, but then i saw trouble's video and i just loved it and coldplay.

  • 1 month later...

It was video In my place, but i wasnt charmed....Then it was my favorite song :)

I don't remember the exact year but I do remember that it was with the 'Yellow' video that I met Coldplay. At first I didn't like that skinny guy singing in a beach. But then I saw one of the 'Touble' videos (the one where they're little dolls on a train or something like that -I don't remember quite well now-). Hearing that song for the first time was :stunned: I loved it right away.

When was the yellow video released? I guess it was the year 2001 when I saw it. I don't remember!!!!

i remember a really long time ago, when i was in my beatles-only phase, (ok, so 4 years ago), i was talking to my mom about music and she was talking about this video of this guy that was just walking along the beach, singing his song. she said she thought it was a great song by a band called coldplay, but the video was kind of boring. and it had nothing yellow in it!

then, like two months later, i was walking to the bathroom in my house and passed the tv. there was a guy walking along the beach in the rain singing a song on really low volume. my brain went "coldplay. yellow." i stopped and watched until it was over, even though i couldnt really hear it. this was still way before i got into them though.

and i have really vivid memories of driving in the car when i was in 7th grade or so and my mom listening to AROBTTH, though i only ever remember hearing clocks or maybe in my place.

it took speed of sound to really get me into them, though. and look at me now!

I first listened to Speed of Sound, can't remember where though, online i believe.

Yeah I was sit on the couch, alone watching Mtv and suddenly started "Yellow" video.

as much as i used to say it, i used to dislike coldplay.. i had a rap/pop phase when i was like 10-12 ish. About 04 i began to like rock and i liked clocks. i downloaded more songs, got the first 2 cds and fell in love with them

First time I knew I was listening to Coldplay was.... January 2006. Yes, that is right but let mi tell you the whole story. So... it was year 2004, I think, when I went to see a movie in the cinema with my friends from school when suddenly the Peter Pan trailer appeared and I heard the music of it (CLOCKS). It grabbed me so strong that I was almost shocked by the power of that music. Anyway I remembered the tune but never looked after it... years and years past when I saw a new-year-greeting by one of my friends who sent me an aviation video (I`m interested of aviation) and the background was Clocks by Coldplay. This time at the end of it for my surprise and my delight :) he included all the songs he used, to create that video and I found out that the band was Coldplay and the song`s name was Clocks. It didn`t take much time until I bought my first CP album and I used to listen to Clocks almost all day and night 24/7. This tune was so good memorised by me, so deep it was in my soul that I remembered it in the very moment I heard the piano again even though 2 years had past. Shortly after it when I became familiar with other CP songs I found out that I knew the song Don`t Panic (I thought actually that it was Depeche Mode`s but it was my favourite song for quite a long time) Trouble and others without even realizing that they were Coldplay`s. Anyway it was an interesting story in my opinion and I love to tell it to other people.

Greetings!

Steppenwolf, 5 posts! :laugh3:

delete a few at least...

Only 2005. I'd heard Coldplay before, but 2005 was when I took notice and got hooked.

It was like, a few months before X&Y dropped and I was listening to a compilations album and God Put A Smile Upon Your Face came on.

I was like... Wow... Awesome.

So I went to the official board to get bsides, and kept reading about this Coldplaying place. So I used some initiative and put .com at the end of it and ended up here.

And it's been a blur since then.
