The Offical Premiership & Championship 2006-07 thread

Featured Replies

Why doesn't this forum have a catch-all thread for the premiership news, like transfers, news on injuries, results etc.? I wondered when just about to post that Les Reed has been shown the exit door at Charlton, to be replaced by Alan Pardew.

So, any transfer rumours?

I just heard that on the news. Charlton have a good manager there IMO. I rate him more than Curbs. Overdue thread here by the way, thanks Dave

not sure if it's fresh...

Sir Alex will get £25+25 million from Glazers for transfers this winter. he might get those additional 25 if he wants to buy a "superstar"

So after the Boxing Day matches, Man Utd has gone into a 4 point lead with a 3-1 win over Wigan, Chelsea could only draw 2-2 with Reading, Liverpool lost to Blackburn, Portsmouth won against West Ham 2-1. Fat Sam's Mob beat Newcastle 2-1, Man City won 1-0 against Sheffield Utd.

So any predictions at mid-season whose going down?

i heard man u were insterested in picking up lucas neill from blackburn... i don't know if its true or not....

im not sure about Watford, but they dont have their best season and they lost yesterday against arsenal 1-2

shame that Chelsea played only draw and omfg Cristiano Ronaldo came up only to the 2nd half, two touches with ball were enough to score two goals

I have loved the confrontation between Lehmann and Drogba,if you remember Arsenal-Chelsea match(ended 1-1,the massive goal by Essien). Lehmann just nudged Drogba and then he stood up and striked back with chest:)

Watford, Charlton & Sheffield Utd. West Ham to have a resurgent 2007 with Tevez leading WH scorer in the 2nd half of the season.

Tevez at WH? since when?

speaking of west ham, i watched green street hooligans last night, great movie!

So any predictions at mid-season whose going down?

18. Sheffield U

19. Charlton

20. Watford

Watford easily the worst side this year, Charlton are very disappointing, unfortunately. i think SU will relegate, too

though there's still 18 matches for every team, everything might happen...

i also bet on this one

1. Man U

2. Chelsea

3. Arsenal

4. Liverpool

5. Bolton

6. Tottenham

7. Portsmouth

Man U seem to be the clear and the only one favourite for me.

If Terry will have an operation and will be out for 2-3 months, Chelsea's dreams about 3rd in a row are over. their defence is very insecure without him atm.

Arsenal struggle a lot, but i think they'll have better time and even fight for the 2nd place

Pool is the dark horse, but i have doubts they can finish in the top 3 this year, they even might have problems to get the 4th (CL Q) place.

Everything's possible between Bolton, Spurs and Pompey. Probably Bolton have more chances, but i wouldn't put money on them, as i said everything can happen

Utd 4 points cleeear

4 Points doesn't really mean much though. If Chelsea win 2 and Man Utd lose/draw, than the lead will be cut. If I remember correctly, Newcastle Utd. would 10 points clear in January 1996ish, but ended up losing to man utd by 8 points at season end.

My predictions at Mid-Season:

Watford, Charlton & Boro.

The predictions might change at the end of next month, when the January sales end.

Man U are 4 points top!! Cheers Reading!! :laugh4:

Barcelona is also second, are you laughing because Reading had stupid luck once in their history? btw Watford has better score with Arsenal,8 wins, two looses and two draws i think, amazing but it has changed

lets hope Reading can do Utd another favour and leave Old Trafford tomorrow with fuck all :D

Make that lead 6 points, with a 3-2 victory for Ronaldo Utd.

Cheslea are rubbish without Terry, 4 games, 8 goals let in

Arsenal lost to Sheffield United

Bolton beat us 3-2 :(

Spurs lost 1-0 to dirtypool.

Watford vs. Wigan was rained off

Shows how important Terry is for them. Or how over-reliant they are on defence..

Pss, who said you need Strikers to score goals :laugh3:

Only a couple more days until 'Arry goes shopping again.

Arsenal lost with Sheffield:lol:,utd had luck against Reading, imagine manutd without Cristiano Ronaldo

mamma mia,Bolton is third:shocked3:

Chelsea are so shit and it is so good to say it out loud

And Mourinho appears to have lost the plot completely!!

And Mourinho appears to have lost the plot completely!!

Mourinho is arrogant, but he is a good manager. although, he ALWAYS had a very good defense (Porto, Chelsea) and now looks like without Cech and especially Terry, it's gone...

so yes, i'm quite sure he's out of ideas for some time

Who wants to bet that Chelsea will buy lots more defensive players in the transfer window?

Watford vs. Wigan was rained off
I saw the pitch there, it should never have started in the first place
