NO!! but I find out...

Thats cool for you guys..... :)

but oh, could this be another way for EMI to make more money? How come they can release the same thing but with a different cover in different continents, but cant release a tour dvd. I can only hope they might do one after the Latin tour? :/

I know what your saying!!!

I have this same CD, but its the South East Asia Tour Edition..

And I paid nearly 22$, that I didnt have for it.

I shouldnt have, but at that time, I couldnt fight it.

I saw the same thing different cover at the local record shop too.

Let's just be blunt: EMI we want that f'in tour documentary/ behind the scenes goodies not something already released. I bet they have all the footage locked up and the poor guys can't get to it.

think of it this way. Coldplay material has been/is distributed by EMI, Parlophone, Capitol, Nettwerk America, BMG, Toshiba. They are technically signed by EMI, and the others are or were regional subsidiaries.

It's not a big deal to us when they release X&Y in Europe, Austrlaia, US, Argentina, Taiwan and Japan. Though all may have different serial numbers, art, +/- an OBI, special stickers or markings, special verbiage differentiating that country's X&Y release from another, we don't get upset. Because they're regional distributions; they're expected to have minor variances.

So they're releasing a Latin America Tour Edition, but not a DVD tour documentary. You're damn right I want a copy...of both (if the DVD existed), but I also collect. for those who solely want the material, it's all out there, the videos, the Toronto pro shot straight from someone's TV to your PC.

OTW, look around, bands and record companies have been regionally marketing the exact same records and cd's for years, while scrapping other projects. this is nothing new.

This is just fucking ridiculous.

The album was released a year and a half ago.

It was crap then, and it's crap now. They already released almost half of the album as singles, which was pointless.

Why do they have to keep re-releasing the same material over and over again?

This CD has about 1 difference to the Australian Tour Edition.

If ever a band sold out, it's Coldplay.

This is just fucking ridiculous.

oh yeah, because hundreds of other bands haven't been doing the same for decades. try looking at a discography for any popular band that's been around for 15+ years, and run a comparison. Coldplay, EMI, who ever you want to cry to or bitch about is following marketing standards in a wobbly market where only a handful of bands literally keep companies going.

with all the shit going on 'round the globe, makes me more irritated that so many people gripe that EMI's releasing a CD that most have no intention of buying, anyway. God knows if they released the Toronto DVD for sale, people would bitch they're trying to make a profit off of something that was aired for free.

^^true.. I was very upset last time because I bought "A rush of blood," twice the second just to have the ep. they gave for the concerts of 2004 but then 2 weeks before that, they released another special edition with videos :veryangry: ... but anyway, it´s our fault for wanting to have anything of them...

I also think an edition of toronto dvd would be a better thing if they want to make more money :dozey:

But then, it probably has happened in your country, many people become interested in the band just when they are on tour in their country (like is the people who´s just in forums when the band is playing in the city, just to dissapear rigght after the show) and I guess that´s the market EMI is putting money on with the release of this..

anyway... if you excuse me, I have to go to buy my special edition copy...

mwhaha:Zu

"Coldplay are sell outs" - I love it when people accuse bands of selling out. Do you really think C,J,G,W are 'evil' enough to sit round a table and think of the best way to p**s off their fans who we all know they love and appreciate so much? The fact is that the buck stops with the money making b******s that are the shareholders and the record company big cheeses (no offence intended to any of you who may be record company big cheeses and such like).

Yep! The label will release an album as many different ways as possible to make the maximum dollar. The band, allthough probably aware of it, have little control over it. It's just how the business works.

Fixed: You mis-spelled BASTARDS,lol!

what happened? have you bought this album?

I think mine is the Australian Tour Edition too, it had a black and white paper cover over the CD, but I dont think any of the guys are wearing sunglasses. :D
