That reminded me of yesterday's 1:7

Haha oh. And by the way, I'm starting to get the feeling that Coldplay're gonna make the top-three :freak:

It's unlikely, but possible. I really hope they won't though 'cause it's a WOM section after all... It isn't Coldplay, believe it or not...

It's impossible for everyone to be setiefied with results.

Echo and the Bunnymen are not in top100 as far as i remember.

So sad but it's still ok with me. This results are not to be taken seriously, i think

interesting though :D

At least we don't have the invasion of U2 unregistered fans like it was with the WC... lol.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Coldplay're gonna make the top-three

I'm absolutely sure that X&Y won't make in top 10.

It's between AROBTTH and Parachutes. The last one is my choice:)

I would agree with that with pleasure since I don't like X&Y, but from what I've seen on this board many people love it. Some of them probably really love it, but I guess some of Coldplay fans appreciate X&Y just because it's an album of their favourite band and they kinda feel like they're supposed to adore it. It's quite ridiculous in this way though.

It's more like Radiohead fans who love Pablo Honey. Maybe some of them really prefer it to Kid A and OKC (which is beyond my understanding lol), but I think many people just can't face the fact that it's a pretty weak album, compared to all the other RH works... BUT Pablo Honey is much better than many albums of another bands

Man, that was so random. Sorry lol.

seriously, all those who voted for The Eraser should check out the influences of Thom Yorke...

Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada, Autechre etc.

The Eraser is a good album, but all those artists mentioned above have much better albums...

whatever

i think that's the main issue regarding the weakness in some parts of this list ;)

I'm not so sure of that. I saw it at #1 in surprisingly many lists

Hopes and Fears is the debut album by English piano rock band Keane' date=' released on May 10, 2004. It topped the UK album charts upon release, was the best selling British album of 2004, and has since gone eight times platinum. It returned to the top of the charts after winning a BRIT Award for Best Album in February 2005. With five and a half million copies sold, it has been ranked the 16th biggest-selling album of the millennium so far in the UK.[/quote']

Confidence bursts throughout, and for a band that has been around seven years and has never released a studio full-length album until now,

achieving nearly epic-like status is quite impressive.

24. The Beatles - The Beatles (White Album)

The Beatles is the ninth official album by the Beatles' date=' a double album released in 1968 (see 1968 in music). It is most often referred to as The White Album, as it has no text other than the band's name on its plain white sleeve, designed by pop artist Richard Hamilton. Originally planned to be titled A Doll's House, the album is often hailed as one of the major accomplishments in popular music.[/quote']

The album doesn't make the point that Yorke doesn't need his bandmates to make a great record so much as it helps shed light on what each member of the band contributes to the overall equation. Each song on the sprawling double album The Beatles is an entity to itself' date=' as the band touches on anything and everything it can. This makes for a frustratingly scattershot record or a singularly gripping musical experience, depending on your view, but what makes the so-called White Album interesting is its mess. Never before had a rock record been so self-reflective, or so ironic; the Beach Boys send-up "Back in the U.S.S.R." and the British blooze parody "Yer Blues" are delivered straight-faced, so it's never clear if these are affectionate tributes or wicked satires. Lennon turns in two of his best ballads with "Dear Prudence" and "Julia"; scours the Abbey Road vaults for the musique concrète collage "Revolution 9"; pours on the schmaltz for Ringo's closing number, "Good Night"; celebrates the Beatles cult with "Glass Onion"; and, with "Cry Baby Cry," rivals Syd Barrett. McCartney doesn't reach quite as far, yet his songs are stunning -- the music hall romp "Honey Pie," the mock country of "Rocky Raccoon," the ska-inflected "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da," and the proto-metal roar of "Helter Skelter." Clearly, the Beatles' two main songwriting forces were no longer on the same page, but neither were George and Ringo. Harrison still had just two songs per LP, but it's clear from "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," the canned soul of "Savoy Truffle," the haunting "Long, Long, Long," and even the silly "Piggies" that he had developed into a songwriter who deserved wider exposure. And Ringo turns in a delight with his first original, the lumbering country-carnival stomp "Don't Pass Me By." None of it sounds like it was meant to share album space together, but somehow The Beatles creates its own style and sound through its mess.[/quote']

Hot Fuss is the debut album by Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers' date=' first released in 2004. The album reached #1 in both the UK and Australia and went on to sell 5 million records worldwide.[/quote']

It's hard to deny the sparkle and fade of Depeche Mode beats and the sensual allure of Duran Duran. After 25 years' date=' those sounds still hold up; by 2004, however, it's an incredible task to pull this kind of thing off without selling yourself to the tastes of the masses.[/quote']

22. Arcade Fire - Funeral

Funeral is the first album by Arcade Fire. It was released on September 14' date=' 2004 by Merge Records. As the title of the album suggests, much of Funeral is about death, but in a way that is cautiously optimistic rather than gloomy, dark or depressing. The album is noteworthy for the way in which it deals with loss and the eventual passing of time. The album is heavily instrumental and orchestral, with a prominent use of strings throughout. It was given this title because several band members had recently lost members of their families: Régine Chassagne's grandmother died in June 2003, Win and William Butler's grandfather in March 2004, and Richard Reed Parry's aunt in April 2004.[/quote']

Butler sings like Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood used to play' date=' like a lion-tamer whose whip grows shorter with each and every lash. He can barely contain himself, and when he lets loose it's both melodic and primal, like Berlin-era Bowie or British Sea Power.[/quote']
