Space Cadet
^All the new lists should be up there now 18. The Killers - Sawdust 19. Gorillaz - D-Sides Both the Gorillaz and Killers albums are off limits because they're collections of b-sides and remixes- previously released material rather than a proper album. Sorry.
TraceOddity
EPs are allowed, right?
Space Cadet
EPs are allowed, right? Sure, as long as they're proper original releases and they came out this year... not singles or b-sides or remixes or live or the like. If it has been released previously, it doesn't count. So for example, I'll allow the Flight of the Conchords EP- sure the songs have been around for years, (at least for us crazy Figwit fans, anyway) but this is the first time they've done a proper studio release of those songs. Yeah, I was always planning on doing something like this when December started. Just took a bit of time to figure out what. Having a looming dealine helps too. But thanks so much for all the support. :D Just did another bit of compiling, and we have at least 175 unique albums on the master list. edit: Ooh, just realised this was on the front page! Space Cadet
^added, and added. Curse you, iTunes... you lie! Well that's the problem with making an international list- there can be so many different release dates for one album internationally that we just have to go with the original one. If it's any consolation, it came in at #50 on last year's list, and their fan base was much smaller back then. Nothing like a good sleeper hit. ;)

Black Rose
Would be worth seeing which album makes it to 3 after radiohead & arcade fire :P And if it's the klaxons or arctic monkeys poor excuses for albums, it will be a shame as both have a couple good singles on and nothing else. Space Cadet
Looks like the media's best of lists have begun: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22187795/ Would be worth seeing which album makes it to 3 after radiohead & arcade fire :P And if it's the klaxons or arctic monkeys poor excuses for albums, it will be a shame as both have a couple good singles on and nothing else. My guess is that Travis will finish above the Arcade Fire, possibly top 3. Just a hunch though. Arctic Monkeys' album was a bit too world weary for me in the end, but the Klaxons album is fantastic all the way through. Not a bad song on it imho, and I'm still listening to it all the time about 10 months later. Probably an acquired taste of a style, though. I meant to get PMs out about unfinished lists sooner, but am still tracking down the last few release dates. Quite a few albums were released in 2006. The first release date between the US and the UK is the one that counts. So Amy Winehouse's album was released in late 2006 in the UK, early 2007 in the US, and counts as a 2006 album. This would be the time to tidy up your lists once and for all!!!
