But we might forget you!!:P

Who are you, again??

Why would anyone be scared not to like something? If you don't like it, you don't.

yes yes, but its just that coldplay have become a big part of my life and have meant a lot to me in the past 3 years, so that if i dont end up liking the direction theyre going in, itll make me quite sad personally.

I know what you mean and I feel the same. But I've decided I'm going to love it no matter what basically because it's COLDPLAY and we all know they're one of the best bands ever cos we're all Coldplay fans and all that stuff, so whoop whoop, bring on album 4.

Coldplay will forever be the biggest band in the world......well atleast until the 2120....lol but to interject.....I truly believe theer motivation greatly decreased. With PArachutes they sung about what they experienced you've got shiver where they talk about girls not noticing them etc. you've got trouble which is plainly clear that the song is about trouble you know someone doing some wrong wrong and getting caught up in their own mess.....on AROBTTH you had politik which was motivated by 911. you've got green eyes which was motivated by Chris's nana.....a strong motivation to many people(not chris's nana) you have amsterdam where you can tell one of the members of the band was really down and out but someone came and showed them that everything is going to be alright. the only song that really sounded like it had motivation behind it on X&y was "a message" and "Til Kingdom Come" the rest of the songs sound like they just new they had to make a good song to go in the place that its in.....they are no longer normal individuals.....they can't really sing about lost loves anymore they can get any girl they want......they can't sing about causing trouble they can do whatever they want......lol they just have a lack of motivation now....they have everything they can dream of.....i think its not till coldplay reaches down into their conscious mindset snd discover the spark and experience before they had fame and Glory thas when they can make a phenominal record.....other than that parachutes and AROBTTH is what will stand

The Hardest Part, along with a video that was a complete embarassment is a slap in the face at the fans instead of at the record industry as they wanted us to believe.

:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

Man... that video! I can just imagine all of us old and wrinkled and watching that video and still saying, that video was so bad!:laugh3:

I was listening to Sparks the other day and I just had to pass the rest of the album into my mp3 player. It was just lovely :nice:

It is true - sometimes it takes a challenge to get motivated, or some splash of cold water in the face to feel again.. Perhaps they've done that! Look at U2, and all the new leaves they've turned over in their years!

So, I'm betting the new album will be great, and surprise us all!!:)

Some people care a scary amount about the band members.

I just want to hear some good music.....and hopefully Coldplay might release a good one next year.

Of course we care a scary amount about the members, why else are we here? I'm concerned, a lot of other people are concerned (although that still vid was a sign of good things, now I know they are actually recording an album). And as of wanting to hear good music, take a look(or a listen) around, there is good music everywhere, it's just....hiding:rolleyes:.

I still don't get this shit about X&Y being a bad album, Coldplays worse even, X&Y is amazing, I am speechless everytime I listen to it.

How many of you can tell me you have actually listened to X&Y in the past month?

By the standards they have set with Parachutes and AROBTTH I do think X&Y is disappointing... and yes I have listened to it recently.

I don't know if any of you have heard Spoon's recently released album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, (that's really the title) but that album is only 36 minutes long. It's also one of my favorite albums.

So 42 minutes of music doesn't seem underwhelming to me at all. The band will always be able to release extra songs as B-sides to the imminent singles, which is the better option if the songs would have disrupted the flow of the album.

I have that album, Gabriel! :D

please..

the person who has started this thread is totally out of his/her mind!

that X&Y has only 42 minutes of music doesn't mean that is a bad album..

in fact.. maybe it has only 42 minutes because the band wanted to put all their feellings and ideas in just a few songs.. so they can make them THE BEST songs..

i prefer 42 minutes of good music instead of 1 hr for example of music without meaning..

I have that album, Gabriel! :D
Holy cow, that's awesome! Sometimes I feel like the only person on the face of the earth who owns it.

Well said.

even though Parachutes has a special place in my heart,

i don't diss x&y, because i agree anyway that you know people i listen to coldplay's early work than the new ones though i am Coldplay fan,but

i know that the early melodies like brothers and sisters,such a rush,ode to deodarant,bigger stronger,spies,sparks,yellow,everything's not lost,daylight

that depth touching songs like which strikes some moments in life or teach about something in life,is not seen that much in x&y, i completely not

against to it though.

because i love swallowed in the sea,fix you, what if,a message, low, till kingdom come like anything because i get relaxed in some of my times whenever i listen to them.

i remembered once i am listening to orlando 2006 concert in which during the beginning of square one they played some other hiphop artists song, but i felt like i am finished after listening it :laugh3:,but ok

then when he started playing square one my energy just boosted up and really i am unable to forget that concert really!

well i love coldplay and yeah singer chris martin so much, now i realised why? haha....

I don't believe any of the albums were 'duds'. Each album has something very special about it that the others don't.

For example- When I listen to Parachutes, I feel as though the music is creating a whole new world in my head, a world that is just landscape and nothing but lush forest.

When I listen to AROBTTH, I hear music aimed at the everyday hardships and the not so everyday hardships, but also on the good side of life. It's also music that will get your fingers tapping, the rhythm of this album is really really cool. (I especially listen to Politik when I feel like bashing someone's head in!)

When I listen to X&Y, I hear melodies that I know can only be Coldplay (with a hint of Kraftwerk), I hear a mixture of good and bad, every song has two sides, confusion and then relief or the other way round. I hear X&Y as an album focasing on the confusion we all face in life.

Thanks.. :)and i think X&Y is a great album..but AROBTTH has a special place in my heart.. so..AROBTTH will always be "THE ALBUM for me"..

confusing

i for 1 am getting bored now.i was listening to x and y and felt something misssing. Lack of feeling or something. after that i started to listen to parachutes in full, and oh my god,it was amazing and i think parachutes blows away AROBTTH and XY miles away because its that good. ive got to say videos wer abit silly. but thats coldplay. i think they should take a radiohead style aproach when it comes to music videos so intreasting and original and i have been listening to radiohead and got to admit they deserve all the credit they get, even more because they are an outstanding band with such huge talents in every single member contributing something amazing. so i think coldplay should do a radiohead and not stick 2 the same style as all of their previous albums.i mean look at radio they have a different style in each of there albums. if radio fans can except all these differnet styles then if coldplay go in a far direction as they can it would definetly be a good thing.you dont want an xy number 2 do u? fans who dont want coldplay such go fuk off because there not the true coldpay fans.true coldplay fans would ask 4 more.

so in conclusion PARACHUTES=great album for a debut extremley talented 4 boys.

AROBTTH=great album once again but still 2 similar

XY=WTF?unispiring, getting bored of the same material getting coaxed over about a million times.

as said many times before: arobtth is their best album to date, followed by parachutes. x&y really can't compare to the first two, that's not to say it's bad, just not wow.

indeed. a short album of exceptional music is better than a long album of mediocre tracks. so keep in mind - quantity doesn't always mean quality.

[edit - yes, that's right now.]

People all have different feelings about X&Y, but I do agree, Chris was a little full of himself, but I know I would be (haha, well honestly,he must have been on top of the world then), I think X&Y is amazing, it was the album the got me into music...

But hey, we're all different....

P.S, yeah, compared to AROBTTH and PARACHUTES, it doesn't really sum up, but I still believe every album has something the others don't, certainly X&Y has it's atributes, AROBTTH does too, but they all have that something that makes them entirely different.

quantity doesn't always mean quantity.

Haha....I love typos!

bah - to correct and be, well correct or not. the dilemmas of life *corrects* my partner would be horrified lol.

each to their own :nice:
