Why did you right "arg" in the title? I thought this was going to be about Argentina!

I just thought when I posted it "Oh Jesus, not another poll!!"

Aha! So you actually meant argh! :D

No - and neither would you if you lived in the UK :dozey:

Why? Do the hoodies get to them first??

The hoodies all work for the post office ;)

I thought they were all workophobic??

i've got friends in two different countries, so yes.

its very expensive though, i paid 15£ the other day for the postage of two parcels. and the people most likely wont even get it on time

That's why all this Christmas ballyhoo is bullsh*t. It just causes unnecessary stress and pressure for everyone.

The world doesn't end at Christmas.

It means just as much to send someone a present after Christmas or at any other time of the year.

I refuse to get caught up in all of it.

If you're going to buy someone something special, it's far better to do it on their birthday, as that's far more personal.;)

but they're probably gonna think that i've forgotten about them

That's their problem, not yours.

Whether they get a present from you or not shouldn't make any difference.

If you phone them, they'll know you haven't forgotten them.;)

it is mine because i care about them. and i do think it kind of makes a difference for i live in a different country and i don't see them very often. i will phone them on christmas anyway but i find it rather annoying that you pay 15£ and still they're probably not gonna get it on time.

a friends sent me a parcel four week ago and it still hasn't arrived.

As I said, it just isn't worth all the hassle.

Do it after Christmas and it will be both cheaper and easier. ;)

i usually don't send it with the mail as i only give them to those who live close but i also have bad experience with sending stuff in mail. i once sent something to someone and they didn't receive it, just the letter came.

and my friend often sent pressies to her friend in slovakia but the pressies themselves never arrived. :(

i guess postmen take them out and steal them. :(

That does happen, unfortunately.:(

it's so sad. it spoils the fun of sending things. :(

For Christmas they go back to work, only to steal anything which looks like a present or a card.

Might as well write "To Royal Mail Sorting Office Worker, have a good christmas with this £20 note"

Postal rates are the same any time of year, be at Christmas, be in April or be in August.
